I think that can be said for almost every 3D platform game.

Yeah, but Kameo's are reeeeaaally bad. Just a note for anyone diving into the game, just use the left analog and don't touch the right one when using Deep Blue.

So I turned on my 360 day and I got the red rings of death. I got my unit on March of 2006. I had had a few issues with freezing but they were few and far between. Oh well I sent in the online request. What has been the normal turn around times for you guys?

I never managed to beat that water boss, the squid or whatever. I was having fun up to that point, but I gave up after a few tries.

I'm browsing the Live website and I just noticed this under Avoiding players:
* Communication:Trash-talking, Bothersome Language, Disruptive Voice
* Game Behavior: Overly Aggressive, Unsporting Conduct, Quit Early
* Playing Skill: Lacking Skill, Too Good, Unfamiliar With Game

The first two I fully understand. But I'm not sure about the last category. If you "avoid" someone does that drop their rep? That's not cool...more than once when I got a new MP game, I'd hop onto a regular player match and get my butt kicked (because I was, you know, new at it.) And theoretically if someone plays the game, they gain skill and/or become 'familiar with game', so being matched up with them two weeks from now would be fine.

Actually they give a descriptions with each of those when you're on LIVE in that section and although I could be wrong, I believe the last one does NOT lower the person's Rep.

I've been "avoiding players" a lot lately on Halo 3 and Lost Planet due to dropping out early thus leaving our team to get slaughtered, Team Killing, and for being loud annoying pricks.

Wow, I downloaded the TRON Arcade demo and once again I'm reminded of why I don't like retro gaming.

Kameo was only a good game because there were, what, 5 other good games out? I wouldn't want to play it again. It did have some of the cooler boss fights though.

I still have it on the shelf unopened, I keep saying I'll play it, but I still have to get through like Mass Effect and such.

It's kinda like the VC. You go, Oh I loved that game... wait...what the hell... this game was good... It WAS!

I swear this is why Nintendo doesn't do demos, most people wouldn't buy them after replaying a level.

I feel the same way, I couldn't wait to download Ninjagaiden and I played it for five minutes and wanted my money back.

This is why I laugh at people who are so giddy to hear about the possibility of Goldeneye on XBLA. While it may still be a fun game, chances are high that it's one of those things best left to memories.

I bought a few games on XBLA, TMNT and SmashTV, and a few on VC, Sonic and Super Mario World. I enjoy them a fair amount but they are some of the few core games I remember playing when I was younger. With the recent release of Star Tropics on VC the list of games I would buy is growing very small. Older titles don't really do it for me.

It was reported in the most recent EGM that Goldeneye was a go for XBLA and was even finished but for some unknown reason Microsoft scrapped it and will not be releasing it.

As far as Tron goes...I played the demo and bought the game. For 5 bucks, I didn't really care that the handling wasn't that great. I just enjoyed playing it and hearing the old sounds effects that I played as a kid. I just paid 5 bucks for a game to play on my 65" HDTV that I put an ungodly amount of quarters & tokens & time into for several years. I am happy.

I will gladly buy any game for 5 bucks that I enjoyed as a kid to play on my 360. I could care less about it being a crap game or it not being as good as I remember it. I will get my 5 bucks worth of enjoyment. Even as crappy as Tempest was on XBLA, I would have bought it had it been I game I like back in the day (but luckily, I never liked it )

Go check out digg, it's one of the top stories. Nintendo and MS couldn't agree on revenue sharing for it.

Kotaku:

XBLA GoldenEye Was Real, Nearly Done, Now Dead

You may want to re-inforce your hearts before continuing. According to 1UP, an XBLA version of Rare's classic N64 shooter GoldenEye wasn't a rumour. It was real. It was a faithful port, with the same graphics, sound, etc. It would even have featured multiplayer over XBLA. However, only two months from completion, Microsoft and Nintendo couldn't agree on how they were going to split the proceeds, and the project was shit-canned. Game over. For those looking for a glimmer of hope, 1UP reckon the only way to salvage the project is to complain. Loudly.

Yeah there was another article somewhere that it was proposed MS would get the new/upgraded version for Live and Nintendo would do a straight port for the VC. Sad that a deal couldn't be worked out.

Despite how rough it may be these days, it would still be nice to have easy access to it. I think it would definitely be the top seller on their services.

GoldenEye would be great. I don't think it's a fair comparison to compare those retro games with shitty games to games that came out on Genesis or N64.

That is why you always play with people you know if possible. I rarely play a team game unless more than half of the people on my team are people I know and have played with before.

As far as avoiding someone for "lacking skill, being too good, or unfamilar witht he game"...well, that is silly. I personally would never mark to avoid someone for those reasons on the basis that either A) They are not as good and allows me to beat them...which is fine with me or B) I suck and need to increase my skill since they are better than me.

Someone mentioned in a group I was in last night in Halo that I thought was a good idea and attitude: He said that if he ever marks to avoid someone after a game, that he marks to prefer someone as well.

So if half the team dropped and left their teammates high and dry, he would mark to avoid them but give a prefer to the guys that stayed and toughed it out and increase their rep. I thought that was a great idea.

We had several droppers last night (mostly in the social games). They would talk shit in the lobby and then quit halfway thru becase they were getting their asses handed to them.

Why is it that the people who seem to talk the most shit never can back it up?

Why not? For some, both can feel like a "good for it's time" situation.
