It doesn't matter to me if I like the game or not. I usually find his reviews equally funny. For example, several weeks ago I was playing WET and enjoying it. Took a break from playing it, and saw the latest Zero Punctuation was a review of that game. I watched him tear the game apart in a fairly brutal fashion and laughed the whole while. Then an hour later I went back and played more WET and enjoyed the hell out of it.

I've got like over 60 hours into Dragons Age and I'm loving it the whole time. It seemed his review of it was more a rip on the traditional fantasy settings and game conventions in general. I laughed.

The only one he seemed overly brutal to was Uncharted 2. I think he was playing an entirely different game than I was.

Re: Zero Punctuation Links

Yeah, his schtick is picking out a game's weakest points and ripping them apart. His approach doesn't change between bad and good games, he just also mentions some positives for the games he likes. As long as he's on a good roll, I find him funny whether I love or hate the game he's talking about. IIRC, Portal is the only one I can recall where he pretty much surrendered and said he really couldn't come up with anything to poke fun at.

Nevermind the fact that people love them, and WANT them. God forbid you please your fanbase. Meanwhile he's asking for Half-Life 3.

Re: Zero Punctuation Links

HL3 is a continuation of a storyline, while the Mario series has never had any continuing storyline over the course of its history. Not trying to say that he's absolutely right, just pointing out the differences in the two franchises. I sold my Wii shortly after finding about NSMBWii and Galaxy 2, since they weren't enough for me to hang onto the system and I don't own a system worthy enough to have L4D2, but this review kinda hit all the negative points that I thought it would.

That's fine. Rip Nintendo. I don't know if he really mentioned if it was any fun once.

It doesn't sound like he played either game, just a general rant on sequels.

He didn't go into much detail, but he did point out that multi-player is frustrating in how it handles power-ups and has people bouncing off each other constantly. I like the game, but I have to admit it's irritating as hell to jump in the same area as someone else and die because you collided at the wrong point on the screen. Not sure how they could've done it better, but it would be my main complaint about the game.

Agreed. That's the best one I've seen in ages. I've never even heard of Deamon's Souls, but I sure as hell don't want it now.

Re: Zero Punctuation Links

The best part about the Demon's Souls review is that he is spot on (other than having to run away from the dragon before getting to the Phalanx monster... er... poo pile). Just read through the DS thread here for some hilarity. It's one thing to make a game hard, but there comes a point where it just turns into a bad game because of it.
