I like the variety of decades, but I'd like more classic metal (Maiden, AC/DC, Ozzy, Priest, etc.) Even some 80's hair stuff would be cool. I'm just not a huge fan of most recent popular music.

Is there a trick to using the USB adapter? I got my replacement yesterday and if it works, it works for about five seconds. I have it plugged into the top USB port of the 360, and the power is plugged into a power strip. Do I need to leave the instruments plugged in all the time, and plug/unplug the adapter from the 360? Or just leave everything plugged in all the time? And I'm pretty sure my replacement guitar is worse than the original.

Here is all I want.

Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta (honestly, who DOESN'T love this song?)

Modest Mouse - Various tracks, but I'd settle for 'Dashboard' and 'We Know Everything'

A Perfect Circle - The Outsider, Pet and The Hollow

Pearl Jam - Yellow BedLetter (I just want to see people make fools out of themselves mumblin' like Vedder), plus the guitar is nice on that one.

Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Phenomena

The OffSpring - Self Esteem

Offspring is a great choice...

I HATE Dave Matthews Band but perhaps that would make for fun times?
Also, what could be more fun than watching guys try to sing some Avril or Brittney?

And honestly, they give us 'The Hand that Feeds', but what about some actually good NiN songs?

Sunspots
March of the Pigs
The Collector

All three would be a blast to play.

Funny, I heard this song yesterday on XM and the first thing that came to mind was, "Man I wish this was on Rock Band."

(and no, that wasn't sarcasm)

Been there, done that. I'd like to introduce you to Rick Allen.

I've got nothing against Blink as I really don't know anything but the 'pop' music they've released. I just think this is a fun discussion.

I'd definitely play Blink, as I would most new stuff regardless of whether I'd put it on my iPod. I certainly lean more towards the classic rock that so many are annoyed by, but I'm open to a variety that is fun to play. And I think that's what Harmonix is trying to do.

I guess I'm a little surprised at the irritation (and on the RB forums and elsewhere, downright venom) some have when DLC is released that doesn't conform to their particular tastes considering that it's a choice. And it's a really cool choice that Harmonix doesn't have to even offer. I bought the QOTSA pack and didn't like it, but what's the point of bitching that they released a selection that I don't like when I could have kept my money in my pocket? And surprise, I'm actually warming up to it after all.

The idea that there isn't a balance is incorrect as well, as there are almost as many 90's and later songs as there are 80's and earlier. There are actually more when you count bonus tracks. And now that some more classic rock has been released this week, they'll almost certainly move to a different and possibly more recent genre for the next few releases.

I'd pay $100 for a pack of German power metal DLC (Blind Guardian, Rage, Grave Digger, Running Wild). They would be tough without a second bass pedal, but I don't care. I would absolutely love doing the complex vocals, guitars and drums of Blind Guardian.

I've been very disappointed with the DLC so far. Those five songs that were priced at 80 points apiece during Christmas were priced 80 points too high for that crap. Also, I cannot stand any of the Queens of the Stone Age songs I've heard. I don't understand how anyone can enjoy them.

The only DLC I've enjoyed thus far would be Metallica, Sabbath, CCR, Foreigner, Skynard & Rush. All the other other tracks have been very weak, but not horrible.

Oh, and thank God we didn't get a Blink 182 song this week. I hope they continue with some more decent music like this week's songs and stay away from ear garbage like that and the five songs from Christmas.

those 5 Xmas songs were easily the best releases thus far IMO, and cheap!

To quote Mad Dawg: "The DLC reactions each week are almost as entertaining as the actual content."

It is pretty funny...they could release a Zeppelin album, and people would just bitch it's the wrong Zeppelin album. God bless the Internets.

I've enjoyed all the DLC I've gotten so far. And I'm really tempted to pick up the rest of it soon. There's $63 in DLC available so far, and I've spent $36. That just leaves $27 to go. I've got tons of points from the CC B1G1 thing, but I kinda don't want to burn through them too quickly, unless I find another deal coming up.

I'd rather get Killers, Blink 182, and a Van Halen cover for $2.97 than pay for a bunch of covers from bands I don't like that much that costs me $5.97.

That said, had last week's songs not been a buck a piece, I would've only picked one up.

In that case, you're wrong.

Nobody - NOBODY - regards him as "one of the best drummers of all time". That's ridiculous, and obviously fanboyism.

I agree completely. The fact that there's such a great balance means that we shouldn't be upset at all. It'd be one thing if it were constant classic rock, or constant new rock - then you'd have legitimate reasons for people to be upset. As it stands, there's something for everyone.

Go to Rockband.com and make a profile for yourself . Then link it to your gamertag. In your profile there's a section called "Songs I Wish Were In Rock Band". I'm willing to wager that the developers take that section somewhat seriously.

I think this game has plenty of 'new stuff':

1970s
Aerosmith "Train Kept a Rollin'"*
The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Boston "Foreplay/Long Time"
Mountain "Mississippi Queen" (cover)
The Police "Next to You"
David Bowie "Suffragette City"
Black Sabbath "Paranoid" (cover)
Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper"
The Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop"
Deep Purple "Highway Star"
KISS "Detroit Rock City"
Molly Hatchet "Flirtin' With Disaster"
The Outlaws "Green Grass & High Tides" (cover)
Sweet "Ballroom Blitz" (cover)

1980s
Rush "Tom Sawyer"*
Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive"
The Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go"
Faith No More "Epic"
Pixies "Wave of Mutilation"
R.E.M. "Orange Crush"
Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills" (cover)

1990s
Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"
Metallica "Enter Sandman"
Nirvana "In Bloom"
Stone Temple Pilots "Vasoline"
Weezer "Say It Ain't So"
Smashing Pumpkins "Cherub Rock"
Radiohead "Creep"
Beastie Boys "Sabotage"
Hole "Celebrity Skin"
Garbage "I Think I'm Paranoid"
Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun"

2000s
The Hives "Main Offender"
Queens of the Stone Age "Go With the Flow"
The Strokes "Reptilia"
Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
OK Go "Here It Goes Again"
Nine Inch Nails "The Hand That Feeds"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps"
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California"
Coheed & Cambria "Welcome Home"
Fallout Boy "Dead on Arrival"
The Killers "When You Were Young"
New Pornographers "Electric Version"

23 songs from the 90' & 00's, 21 from the 70's & 80's. Sounds like a good mix to me, but... I feel that the 80's had the best musicians from the last four decades, and that is the shortest group of songs in the game. IMO, with the exception of a handful of artists (Metallica, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, some STP), musicianship/skill in the 90's-present is pretty weak.

I'll get Limelight. I would have gotten The Black Crowes if it were a master track.

But Rick had time to re-coop, time to have a drum set up made for him, time to practice, yada yada yada...

Travis went straight on tour when he broke his hand. When he broke his foot, he was in the middle of the tour and played.

Travis is one hell of a drummer, but to rank him with Peart, Moon and Bonham is ri-fucking-diculous.

My friends and I are all addicted to this game, and one of my friends wants to buy it. But she's not going to DL any of the new songs...so would you consider it a worthwhile purchase, or something she'd get bored of really fast?
