GoNintendo.com has posted that 100% official confirmation has come in, stating that Geometry Wars: Galaxies will launch in America for Wii on November 20th, with the DS version following on the 27th.

Is there a good article talking about what this game is about?

It looks like asteroids or something.

THIS IS NOT FAIR.

New gifts from Club Nintendo in Japan. A Super Famicom controller that plugs into the Wii Remote to use as a Classic Controller and a Platinum Version of the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack. They're both free for simply registering enough games.

House of the Dead 2 and 3 on Wii?

Pretty cool, I had 2 on the DC and 3 on the Xbox, but I never could find a decent affordable light gun for the xbox.

This never stops angering me. The US continues to be a very important market, but they refuse to bring something like this here. Guess I just have to be happy with my free Feather Stylus and Mario Coin.

It's so true. The Japanese service has been a severe source of maddening jealousy for me.

That Super Famicom controller though, I might have to hit the 'bay for that one.

I expect the soundtrack to be available in other ways, though I'm not sure what the specifics of this so-called "Platinum Edition" are, I fully expect a version to be for sale in some form, either through the normal import channels or as a rare American release with how much attention the soundtrack has been getting.

So Wii can use a keyboard with USB? That is kind of cool but I would like to see a wireless Wii keyboard! I hate using the little keyboard screen

Anyone pick up Umbrella Chronicles?

I saw it in the store today but I didn't feel like buying it now. How is it?

I haven't played it, but it's got decent reviews (77% on Metacritic) -- actually much better than I expected, consider all the pre-hate on the game (mostly because it was on-rails).

I'd like to get 3 copies of Guitar Hero 3, but I stopped by a local store a couple days back and they didn't have any in stock, so I don't think it'll work out for me.

When I was there some guy tried this but it was a no-go. Only one copy of GH3 per customer qualifies for this deal.

Just turned my Wii on for the first time in ages, and downloaded the update. Is the update that allows the Forecast Channel to show the forecast on the Wii Menu broken? All it does is show a sun. I figured at the least it'd show the temperature.

I picked it up on Friday but I've only played through the first few stages. I'm liking it more than I expected. It's about as good as you can get blending the two elements of lightgun game and Resident Evil. It's pretty cool the way it gives you a condensed walkthrough of the games. It's true to the original games in level layout and even the details of each level, but it skips the side paths and fetch mission areas and just cuts to the main destinations. And it has an arcade sensibility in that it encourages you to go back and replay stages to get better scores... you can select any stage you've beaten and replay it.

My main complaints? The camera view system is sort of stupid. Not only are you on a rail movement-wise, but your view automatically pans around wherever the game wnts you to see. Which is okay, I guess, but then you also have a very limited amount of free view with the analog stick within this system... which is kind of pointless to me. I would rather have full free view or just not have to worry about it at all. And the dodge system from RE4 is back (random warnings to shake the wiimote, or tap A or B, or both) but in a first person game I think they could have went with something more intuitive.

Overall, its fun so far. It's sort of a lightgun game with a purpose.
