I found this summary of the review on Neogaf if anyone is looking for more info.

-Awkward combat - slow, timed flicks of remote are required for consecutive hits; swing too fast and it's not recognized
-No motion-based fishing
-Issues can be overcome with practice
-Play PS2 version instead (apocalypse now?)

The reviews of Okami will have me rebuying my PS2 version the next time GameStop has a sale on used games.

Yeah, I got near the end of Okami on the PS2, but held off on finishing it to do so on the Wii. Now with the unanimous chorus of Okami being better on the PS2, I think I'll skip the Wii version and just finish my current game on the PS2.

So wait, is the Okami(Wii) situation one of those where you'll only notice it's lacking if you've played it before on the PS2? You know what I mean?

I've never played it but thought about getting it for the Wii. But if you hardcore Wii guys are saying the reviews are bad then I won't even bother.

If you still have your PS2, play it on that, if not, definitely get the Wii version, as it's a great game, regardless, and needs to be played.

That's the impression I'm getting. It would have been nice if there were some reviewers that went into it fresh, not having played the original.

Interesting. I guess I'll see how this plays out.

I think that's kind of true, but at the same time, from what people are saying (and even Nintendo Power!), the controls on the PS2 are just, better. So if you are someone who has a choice then the better option is the PS2 version. Of course if you only own a Wii, then it's still a pretty good game to pick up.

It doesn't sound unplayable on the Wii just a bit tougher to control. I'm sick and tired of games that have inferior controls on the Wii and will just rebuy the version I was used to and still have a save halfway through. It will also be cheaper than the Wii version.

If I only had the Wii as an option I wouldn't have any problem buying it for the Wii. It is a great game and belongs in everyone's game collection.
