I picked it up a few hours ago. Great fun. Only tried the new control scheme for a few minutes before swapping to the classic controller for dual analog goodness. Maybe I'll give it another try soon.

Well, I was able to pick up Geo-Wars, but just barely. No big store, like Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc. had it. The Gamestop near my work didn't have a single pre-order for it, and didn't get in a single copy. The one near my home didn't have any pre-orders either, but they had a single copy. But since it was their only one, it "unwrapped", with it's case used as a display. Since I didn't feel like continuing my search, I just bought it - they had only unpacked it just a couple hours ago, so no biggie.

Anyways, the game is great fun, though I have some problems. I'm so used to the 360 controller, that the Wii classic controller doesn't feel right. Firs off, the sicks are far too close to each other, and my thumbs keep hitting each other. I could use the very tips of my thumb, but due to the lack of concave tops on the stick, my thumbs keep falling off. It just feels awkward. But since the game is so easy off the bat, it's not too big a problem. In order for a stage to be a challenge, you have to keep playing it for a while, and GW was never meant to be played for such long durations.

Another thing I didn't realize until I played it is how much I'd miss the music I have on my 360 hard-drive that I use specifically for GW. The music I've picked to play GE to really makes the game work better for me, and for whatever reason, makes me play better. I totally miss it while I'm playing this Wii version. I also miss the HD aspect, but that's not as big a deal as the controller and music.

Also, I'm not sure if it's worth the full $40 price tag, but whatever. It'd have been a perfect addition to Xbox Live though - I could've used the 360 controller, my music, and it would be in HD

Nope - just classic or nunchuck w/ the 'mote. The C-stick on the wavebird would be weird anyways. I haven't tried nunchuck/'mote controls yet, but I don't think I'd like it anyways.

After playing through the world tour mode this is a game that benefits greatly from downloadable content. You play songs over and over so its nice to buy some extra songs to mix in. Unless Nintendo gets their act together and makes this possible on the Wii I wouldn't really want a Wii version.

Gamestop at Blanco and 1604 had a few, but this was at 9am.

Anyone else pick up Smarty Pants for $28 at Target? Looked like it might be fun.

Tons of Wii playing here this Thanksgiving Weekend. Mario Galaxy for me, but the family and I have been whooping each other for hours with Mario Kart 64, an old Thanksgiving pasttime from the mid-1990s. Brought back some great memories.

I picked it up Sunday during the TRU sale. Haven't played it much, but it seems to be a fun multi-player game. I would say it is worth the $28 price at target.

Has anyone played Crash of the Titans, BWII, or Soul Caliber Legends? I picked up all three during the toys r us deal. Trying decide if I should keep any of them.

Crash sounds fun to me but it might be more for younger crowd.
BWII sounded like fun until I heard about the political crap in it.
Soul Caliber I just bought to trade or sell. But I have seen reviews from 6 to 9.The 9 one was given my second thoughts.

Wal-Mart at 1604 and Nacogdoches had at least 10 of the zappers. This was around 9pm.

Ravenous if you're still looking call your nearest Wal-mart.

I can't comment on the Wii version but...

I played the Crash demo for the 360 and it was a lot of fun and when the price drops I'm gonna buy it. I had stopped playing Crash Bandicoot games long ago so to have fun with this was a nice surprise. Crash was always a goofy game with goofy characters, settings, and gameplay. Frankly, it's about as goofy as a Mario game but "Cute" in different sorta way...

That is great to hear! The Wii was also a hit at our Thanksgiving as well. We had a big Wii Sports bowling tournament and everyone had a fun time playing.

Quick question:

What sensitivity level do you guys have the Wii set to? I had been using the default setting of 3, but just got the idea to crank it up to 5, and now everything seems so much more responsive. The change pretty much makes me think of the controller as the Wiimote 2.0.

I've had mine set at 4 since I set it up. Works just fine for me.

Smarty Pants is my new favorite party game on the Wii. With 4 players it is a blast. Great trivia and great use of the Wiimote. Best $28 (hopefully a few of you grabbed this at Target) I have spent on a game.

Not something to play on your own probably, but definitely stands up to Bzzzt on the PS2 and Scene It on the Xbox360 as a great party trivia game.

I can't believe how much the Wii is going for on Ebay. CHeck out this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Wii-System_W0QQi...QQcmdZViewItem

549.00$ and all you get extra is a extra numchuck (19.99$) and Wii Play (49.99$)

I was looking right at it on Saturday and walked away...pretty dumb, but I'd just bought guitar hero 1+2 at Wal-Mart for $39 and didn't want to buy another game. Perhaps I'll put it on the boy's xmas list.

Damn, people really bought up those $99 Brown Zunes. Microsoft has a real chance to cut a chunk out of the iPod market. I'm finding more and more people that have moved to the Zune since the software and firmware updates.

Sorry, I realize this is about the Wii that just shocked me.

On topic, I wanted to note that Nintendo sent out email about the Fire Emblem save import glitch. They will have corrected discs ready by mid December and will do exchanges. Props to Nintendo for correcting this on a game that is very niche and a problem that would only effect a small percentage of people buying the game anyway.

Now if Activision would only do the same for the 500,000 selling GHIII on Wii. Fix the damn mono sound already.
