Must be the vastly superior PS3 hardware... because, as we well know, the PS3 doesn't have this kind of scaling problem. Oh, wait:

no idea if that was fixed yet.

Ok, enough of Ocelot's video problems (which were already fixed). Any recommendations on what to spend Live points on? Got a bunch of cards from Amazon the other day. Already have Geometry Wars and Pacman CE, and just picked up Marble Madness since the price got slashed... will probably also give in to half-priced Zuma. Also have the new Halo maps.

I'm looking at the extra Oblivion stuff, but I haven't even finished the regular Oblivion, and I always think some of this older content (like MUA) will come down in price sooner or later. Waiting for Street Fighter HD as well. Anything else coming up soon (either DLC or XBLA) that people are super excited about that I should wait for?

Maybe i can my own question... because X360 detected the 1920x1080 setting, but since the connection is not the DV-15S SVGA connector, it can't be used. This sounds right, right? Oh man, that means i can get the DV-15S cable and connect via PC port and try it again? Wow, not only i don't need the HDMI splitter box, i just got myself another high resolution port .

i think i just edited my own post... oh well...

That is for using your TV as a PC monitor. Notice it says "PC Display" at the top of both of those pages, and is under the heading "Using your TV as a Computer (PC) Display" that starts on page 78, and is in the chapter called "PC Display" that starts on page 76.

Okay, a question... I just got my Xbox back from getting serviced for RRoD. When I hook it up am I going to have to re-enter all my personal information or should that all still be stored on my hard drive? Or is it stored on Live? I just want to know what I'm in for.

Edit: I should add I got a different machine back, different serial number I mean.

As long as you are connected to Live, all will be fine. Disconnect though, and that's where the problems start.

As long as you kept your hard drive, you are good to go.

Yeah - when i got my new (different serial number) back from repair, all I had to do was plug in the hard drive, and set the time zone.

Would it be a problem if we took Ocelot's problem to a new thread?

Yes. Because he says he's done so it should be popping up anymore.

Cool. I zoned out trying to read through it and must have been semi-conscious when he got to the part about being done.

I'm sure the game will either be the new release one week (although not a blockbuster), or a choice of several older games. If they said the free game was Uno or Robotron, then all of the people that already own them may feel somewhat shafted. They could send an email with a choice and give you a unique code to download one of three games. However, I doubt this will happen as some people have multiple Live accounts on one box (Gold and Silver will be entitled to the free game).

So, probably something new. Maybe a retro game coming out soon. Frogger 2, perhaps?

The free game will probably be Frogger or some other coin-op classic.

make sure you register your "new" serial# in your hardware profile... this way if the "new" unit goes RRoD again, you can submit the repair request on-line. Also, you can check the "new" warranty status too.

I still haven't dropped down for Galaga or either of the classic Pac-Mans, so that'd be swell with me.

Pretty sure it will be a new game not yet released and who knows one that they were possibly already considering to offer for free or at most only 400 points anyway. Will just have to wait and see, hopefully by next Wednesday would be nice.

Not exactly done done, but i'm happy with the helps i got and the work around (there are still some confusions, but i'll resolve them on my own). I do wish there's a master thread just about the X360's hardware (like various connections optimizing your gaming/hd movie experience), not only helpful for the newbies, but a place where gamers and electronic gurus exchange info. Of course, the same can be said about the PS3 and Wii.

I do realize that this is a gaming community, but many of us watch movies too. So, it's not a surprise that most of us own a sound system and what not. What i'm saying is this, some of us have good equipments and not really optimized to take advantage of them (either the setup is wrong or don't know how). Also, the thread could be a place where people can get recommendations to various equipments they're planning to purchase (i.e. budgets and deals).

Free is still great (even though I have been thoroughly unimpressed with how classic coin-ops are handled on Live) but I said it in the free Joust/Robotron thread.. they would be so much better off giving away an original game to better show off XBLA, there's a good selection of 400 point games now that they have the "Arcade Hits" program (what happened to that?), Geometry Wars, Uno, Jetpac Refueled, Marble Blast Ultra, Zuma, etc.
