I'd be available this weekend too, if you need another player. We should really do Legendary though, it's not that difficult.

I'd be up for playing the Gears of War Campaign in Co-op with you too.

I think I can do some Halo 3 Legendary with you, Ken. What time this weekend are you thinking?

Also do you know off the top of your head where all the skulls that give achievements are located?

Anytime Saturday or Sunday.
I know all of the skull locations, if you need any Campaign Achievements I'll help you to get them.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

Had a good time playing through M:UA with you about a year ago. I think the wife and kids are heading out of town Saturday afternoon or evening so that works out real nice for me.

I remember that, good times.

I wish they'd release the second Ultimate Alliance game already.

I sent you a PM via dvdtalk. Check your inbox.

I work nights too. I get home and I'm up until the afternoon then I'm in bed for the rest of the evening until Midnight, then it's off to work. On the weekends, I can skip sleep for the most part.

I'd like to do more Co-op gaming in general with dvdtalkers. I've always been a bit afraid to do it but games like Left 4 Dead make me want to do it more. I'm also up for some GOW2 in co-p(insane) too.

I agree.

I love the Gauntlet style games and anything that gives me a ton of characters with special powers is great. I really think M:UA was an underrated game.

On easy? Like the in-game description says - it practically plays itself at that level.

I'll be on this weekend as well, so if you guys need a fourth feel free to send me an invite or friend request. I'd love to play through the campaign again.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

So what's it going to be..both coop on GOW2 and Halo3?

It looks like no problem for either. Both Kenshiro and Giantrobo and myself for GOW2 or....

And for Halo a good bunch with GatorDeb, Giantrobo, JustinRT, Kenshiro, Pinata360, and myself. Find a couple more and we're set. I'm just slightly craving a bit of coop period!

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I don't have GOW2, so I can't play (I do have GOW1, though).

Halo 3 sounds fun - how many does it support on coop? Is it 4 or 8?

Also I have confirmed that my wife and kids are leaving on Saturday for many hours (party in OKC that's 2 hours away) starting at 10am CST so I will be available for a good chunk if anyone's awake

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

Halo 3 supports 4 player co-op. Only people on your friends list, so if you guys are getting together make sure you're all "friend-ed" up.

Have you finished Gears 1 on Insane pinata? I'm still wanting to hook up with someone on that one.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I haven't even finished it on Casual I think I did Act 3 on Hardcore, though. I got to the end of Act 4 (holed up in the mansion).

I *think* I can handle that with you. Do you have the "Dom" achievements already?

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I'm going for the Dom achievements so whoever I hook up with has to be able to boot up Insane and invite me to their party. I think you have to finish Hardcore to have that unlocked if I'm not mistaken.

Check and see if you can boot up Insane, if you can we can give it a run. I made it through most of the train solo but am looking to get the co-op cheesments. I did watch a few YouTube vids on taking out Raam on insane. It's almost laughable how easy some of the vids make it look. Check it out:

I'm always willing to play some GoW2 co-op (I want to try and get all the collectibles). If you see me on and need a partner: go ahead and send me an invite.

I'll probably be on Friday nite usually looking to just hook up for Horde play but I need to get the achievements for coop and get more of the collectibles as well. I'll be on about 7:30 central and not sure when on Saturday

I'll start a co op game of GOW2 on insane with anyone this weekend or early next week. I'm on most nights anywhere from 5-10 CST. Let me know.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I'd like play coop (4 people?) Halo 3 Legendary too. Although I haven't had a lot of time to play lately..

The good thing about GOW2 is that you can play with anyone online. I started an Insane session, or whatever is called the hardest difficulty (I already finished in Normal), and got connected with a guy. I just played for a bit, didn't finish the first episode, just trying to find how it worked, and it worked pretty well. And Insane didn't look that hard either, at least in coop.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I sent out Friend Requests to all the people that wanted to play co-op this weekend.

I'll get on Saturday afternoon/evening and start up a lobby and send out invites.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

Well me and JustinRT hooked up for a round of coop last night/this morning. I purposely left out the phrase "good round" as my playing was anything but. We played "Insane" and going from "Normal" caught me a bit off guard. Like going from Level 1 to Level 41 in Horde. So JustinRT I will do better the second half.

I think we're trying to hook up for the second half of the game this evening so if JustinRT doesn't mind if one or two want to join in and can't find a Halo coop fine. Besides we need one to take Mr. GunHo Carmine's (AI) place. Long story there....Try to get on about 7-8 central.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

Awhile back the Legendary edition (w/ the helmet) went on clearance and I bought it for my wife, who's a major Halo addict, for her birthday. It's sat on display, aside from taking it out of the box, it's never even been opened. Our other copy of Halo 3 is the limited edition and we use that one to play. It's developed a gnarly crack from putting it in and out of that dumbass case it came in that, much like a crack in a windshield, is slowly spreading out from the center of the disc. Whatever, not a big deal, because we have another copy right? Well, apparently not, because the Legendary copy will not play in our 360.

When we put it in and close the tray, the 360 acts like there is no disc in the tray. Not the expected "disc is dirty..." nonsense or the drive confusing it for a DVD, but nothing. Has anybody heard of this? Like I said, the game has literally never been opened or played before, and I tested basically every other 360 game I have, and they all came up fine, so it seems to be confined to my 2nd copy of Halo 3. I tried searching for this issue before, but found bupkis, and I'm really loathe the thought of trying to deal with Microsoft for a replacement.

Sorry, that was a bit of a ramble, I know.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I know Bungie recommends against it, but can you install the game to the hard drive with the cracked copy? Do that so that you can still play with it and store it in a standard case from now on.

That is not an uncommon problem. My disc was defective as well. At the time the game came out they had a free replacement program going on. Unfortunately that has expired. Try Corvin's option and see if that works for you.

Re: ONLY Halo 3 thread - part deux.

I keep getting that feeling I want to come back and play this game more. It just feels like I ran through the single player mode and before doing anymore everyone was off to other games that came out shortly afterward.

After a constant barrage of GOW2 in single, coop and Horde I may need a break and wouldn't mind giving 4-player coop a go. I know with COD, GoW2 and Left for Dead still hot maybe a long shot. It's tough enough for 2-player alone but the other option is getting something like Left for Dead I guess.
