Have you tried contacting Nintendo? They should be able to transfer for you...

Unsuccessfully. I was told (but I probably didn't try hard enough) that they only transfer if your first system with all the dlc breaks.

It takes talking to the right person. If they would agree to it you would have to pay for shipping both consoles to them. Don't know if there are any other fees. I talked them into it for a DSi XL then realized how dumb it was for me to have to go through that hassle and told them to forget it.

I was under a time crunch because I had a buyer on craigslist so I just didn't want to mess with it. And after selling it, I went from 25 vc titles to about 6. Many of them were awesome, but just were not worth buying again.

That's ridiculous! The very idea that Nintendo expects us to rebuy all of our VC games on new hardware is ludicrous...

I am sure they have a plan whenever the new Wii comes out that will not leave everyone out cold.

I am not upset...as there were games I was never going to touch again that were on my system, I was able to get a black wii for crazy craigslist cheap, I was able to sell my white wii for way too much on craigslist, and all the points I ever had were from the Pepsi promotion and Walmart clearance.

Re: The One and Only Virtual Console Thread (Wii)

Here's what they need. A Wii channel that, given a unique, one-time use code from NOA will export all your content to an SD card without any of the DRM shit. Then, on the new hardware (be it Wii or Wii2), a similar program to apply the new DRM to all the content.

That's what I figured, but if the whole DSI XL situation is any indication...

Start a new job tomorrow so no more updates on Monday from me. Hopefully some one can take up the reins of the sometimes depressing Virtual Console updates.

Could possibly be. WiiWare is a joke, VC is virtually non-existent and DSiWare, who really gives a flip? (I don't even cover DSiWare in my weekly column). I want to give the Slots game a chance (cause I'm a sucker for a good slots game) but the chances of it being decent are slim and none.

There are lots of hidden gems in both DSiWare and WiiWare, but this week is a stinker.
