The Ancients Beckon table was quite enjoyable. It has the feel of a table you would have expected to find in the late 90s. It has the ramps, LCD, magnets and so on you would expect from that era, but the missions are quite fun and it is a very relaxing table and easy to keep things in play.
As with the Metroid table the pinball physics feel pretty good and it looks quite nice on the DS. It has the dead space between screens, but they have it spaced out well enough that you don't have many issues with losing track of the ball.
As easy recommendation at 500 points. It also has an interesting daily play feature. You play one ball and try to score as high as possible. You can only play this mode once a day.

The press release isn't available yet, but LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias is confirmed for today so that is 1000 points already spent. Really enjoyed the first one and this one seems to address some of the minor issues with the first game. Can't wait.

Obviously an arcade title with more sophisticated (at the time) hardware would look better then a NES version, however which one is "more fun" is debatable....having played both, I'd take the NES version all week long and twice on Sundays....in fact, NES Rygar would benefit greatly with the Virtual Console ability to "suspend" games and come back to them, as the game's biggest flaw was a lack of passwords/saves....

Lost Winds: WoM is really, really good. I rented Brutal Legend this week, but ended up going back more to play this game. I'm about 2 hours in and loving it. They fixed pretty much all the minor gripes from the first release and have made this chapter nearly perfect. I also like that it continues right along from the first one so you don't have to relearn any of those powers again.
I also picked up the Pro-Putt Domo and it is surprisingly good. For 200 points you get a well designed 9 hole mini golf course that you can increase to 18 if you get enough coins and win the tournament. Very fun and priced right. I may try some of the other Domo titles. Looks like Nintendo made these are they are better than I expected.

Don't they usually say which system the games were originally released on? Zombies doesn't say - is it just assumed that if there isn't a note that it's the Nintendo version?

It doesn't matter to them what the original console is. It's all "Virtual Console" so you don't need to worry about it, regardless of how features or style change from console to console.
