Yeah, but since we're talking 8 days before 2008... a girl can dream, right?

I downloaded Pokémon Snap and Blades of Steel last night.

We have Pokémon Snap for the N64 (but that console broke about 6 months ago), and my wife and I were so addicted to it back then, we had to get it.

I even gifted Blades of Steel to my buddy for Christmas. We used to play that game for hours back in the day!

According to sources within NeoGAF, here's the VC lineup for tomorrow (with YouTube links to see each game in action):

Top Hunter (NEOGEO, 900 points)

Light Crusader (SEGA Genesis, 800 points)

Bubble Bobble (Nintendo Entertainment System, 500 points)

Yep. I want to get Bubble Bobble but there is a new DS game out this month in the same mold as the original game. I don't think I need to spend money on both.

BASEBALL STARS 2 (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 900 Wii Points): Pick one of six unique teams from cities around the world, then get ready for nine innings of excitement, whether you're taking on the computer in a 15-game tournament or squaring off against a friend. There are two modes of game play, so even the most inexperienced player can compete at the major-league level (with a little computer-aided fielding). Watch as the game develops through split-screen views and close-up shots worthy of any highlight film, and see if you can catch the numerous over-the-top animations of the large and detailed player models.
Someone gifted me this game over Christmas, and holy shit, if it's not a load of awesomeness. It's completely ridiculous and over the top, but that's what makes it great - it's an arcade game through and through, and it's loads of crazy fun, with some of the best music I've ever heard in a sports game. I had a blast playing against the computer, it should be even more fun against another person.

Did you play the original Baseball Stars? If so, how does it compare?

More importantly, does it have the awesome season mode from the NES version?

AFAIK, unfortunately "no" to all the above questions. I've never played #1, so I wouldn't know how it compares (this is the first time I've played this one). If there is a female team, I haven't seen them yet. And there doesn't seem to be a season mode, as it's a straight-up arcade game - but being "24-bits", it certainly looks shit-loads better than it would on the NES - I really like the art style used in the game.

The releases for Monday, January 7th have been leaked... here they are, with links to YouTube videos:

Star Tropics (Nintendo Entertainment System, 500 points)

King of Fighters '94 (NEO-GEO, 900 points)

And... that's it. No third game this week. Boo.

I already have so many King of Fighters for the PS2 - though it'd be nice to play a straight N-G port, I'm waiting for Samurai Showdown, specifically #2.

There's a fellow on NeoGAF who gets word of releases from PR every Friday afternoon. His posts have been dead-on every week, so I've begun to post them here.

Unfortunately, I agree. I'm a Capcom guy; the SNK fighters do nothing for me.

Startropics is a lot of fun, even though it is pretty easy. I played through my copy not too long ago.

Startropics 2 on the other hand, was a huge let down.

I remember Star Tropics had a spot where you had to get a 4 digit code from the instruction book to input it in the game to get any further. I wonder if they will have done something about that or just require us to go to gamefaqs or something to get the code.

I guess I can stop holding my breath for Killer Instinct Gold (N64). Has Rare let any of their game go to the vc?

Yeah, you actually had to take a piece of paper that came with the game and dip it into water to reveal the code. I read somewhere that the electronic manual in the Wii version has images of the paper and a bucket of water. You click on the images to virtually dip the paper into the water and then it shows you the code.

I have the original NES cart, but I might buy the VC version anyway since I love the game so much.

It was a great game, and that, is a nice touch if true.

Monday's games from the same source that has been right so far.

TG16
- Riot Zzone

SNES
- Pac-Attack

Sucks they are picking titles like this and only 2 a week is a real killer. Bring on Harvest Moon already.
