While my PC can run it just fine, I need to get it for the 360.

Regardless, I just got back from GS, and I guess someone got the memo, since I got the discount with the preorder, and I didn't even have to whip out the website printout.

For anyone who doesn't mind waiting for shipping, buy.com has a deal where if you buy it using google-check out, you get free shipping for a grand total of $48.99.

Yeah, Tuesday or Wednesday. When you pick it up, have a printout of their website, offering the deal, in hand and give them shit!

I think I'm going to pick this up next week. I bought the PC version, but I got half-way through it, bought a Mac and never really booted XP again. I don't think it's worth installing XP just to play HL2, but I can somehow justify buying it again for the 360. Weird.

My Halo 3 pre-order went pretty smoothly at Best Buy. I think I'll stick with them for new games. Do they have any kind of pre-order deal going?

Does anyone know if the 360 version of the Orange Box will have developers commentary like they do on Epi. 1, TF2, and I think Epi. 2?

If only the 360 version was that cheap.

I think I'll hit my GameStop tonight and pre-order it to save the $5.

It could be that cheap... if you get it during TRU's B2G1 sale next week.

THey are doing another sale next week?

Hmm.. I don't know if there are 3 games I want/need at this point. Might have to talk to a friend and see if he wants to split the deal.

According to CAG, of course, starting on the 14th.

Maybe I will hold off, or if I do get it on release, do the buy and return bit.

Thanks for the heads up though. I will ahve to see if there are any other games I want. Or as I said, go in with a friend so one of us gets 1 game, the other gets 2 and we each pay $40 per game.

They talked about Portal on the 1up show this week. The more I hear about it the more it interests me. It's the second podcast I've heard mention how funny the game actually is, which I didn't expect, and how clever and unique the game is, which was expected but it looks like they delivered.

I'm having a hard time deciding which game to play first.

I was thinking about doing that with a couple friends, but GHIII is only a couple weeks out so that's $100 on top of the $100 I just dropped on Halo, so Orange Box may be hitting the Christmas list instead.

I think even if I pick this up today at Circuit City (the ad says Tuesday for PC), Valve isn't unlocking the game on steam until midnight so I will have to wait. I might still try to pick it up at CC today.

Anybody got the minimum system requirements for Team Fortress 2?

I think this is what I've got:

AMD 2.4 GHZ Dual Core
2 GB of RAM
GeForce 7900GS Video Card
Keyboard
Mouse
Blue LEDs

It's a good thing you have those blue LED's. Those are absolutely required. The game won't run if you have red or green.

This is what I was able to find for minimum requirements.

Minimum: 1.7 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 8 level Graphics Card, Windows Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Quick question, have NO idea what this game is or about but I saw a commercial for it and REAL quick I saw a cut of a chick character, she looked just like the chick from Beyond Good & Evil.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Does this game have anything to do with BG&E?

Are you being serious?

Anyways, it has NOTHING to do with BG&E, and it has everything to do with Half Life.
Half Life 2, specifically (arguably the greatest FPS ever made) (upgraded for the 360), along with the first 2 (of 3) parts of it's sequel (the developers regard it as HL3, but since it comes out in installments, they call them "episodes"). Episode 2 has already been released for PC, and Ep.3 is brand new, as is the game "Portal" which uses their new technology of a portal-gun - it's kind of a FPS/puzzle game, and kinda ties into Half Life. There's also Team Fortress too in the Orange Box, which is an awesome multi-player only game, where you pick from different archetypes (sniper, explosives, gunner, etc.), and go at it - it's sorta cartoony, and the girl character sorta looks like the girl from BG&E, which is what may have caught your eye.

No the character is not from Beyond Good & Evil (under-rated game btw), but is a chick named Alyx who is a crucial character to the Half-Life 2 story, and becomes your partner in crime in Episode 1, and what seems to be even more crucial in Episode 2, which gets released tomorrow.

I would really read up on Half-Life 2 if I were you, it's a phenomenal game which is held to high critical acclaim as well as the largest following of gamers you'll ever see. There's more people playing Half-Life 2 and it's modifications online then all other non MMORPG games put together.

So I have Steam all pre-loaded and ready for 00:01 tomorrow! I'll be up even though I have class in the morning. Not to mention the new Radiohead album will be emailed to me as well tonight/tomorrow!

I also pre-ordered the Orange Box for 360 at Gamestop and traded in a few games and DVDs, so in the end all I have to pay is 5 bucks or so. Can't wait!
