I guess I'm one of the very few people who are actually looking forward to COD4 and the Orange Box than Halo 3 (which I may not get).

If people have good things to say about Halo 3, I may even go back and finish Halo 2 "for the story". I have no interest in the online of either.

Hmm I don't remember you being a Halo player so I'll assume you're just saying that because you think the other two games won't have a place once Halo3 drops. I disagree, I think Orange Box and CoD4 will be able to stand alone.

Then you may as well not get either one. While the single player aspect of the games are really good (1&2 anyhow) the thing that seperates Halo from the rest is the multiplayer. Yes even in the Halo: CE days.

I was big on Halo 2. I quit playing about the time the 360 launched though. I've only played sporadically since. My levels usually hovered between 21-27 when I kept up with it. I played the Halo 3 beta a bunch and can't wait for 3.

As for COD4 and Orange Box, I have interest in both, but I think they are launching at a bad time. I think they will both stand alone, quality-wise, but no, I don't think they have a place once Halo 3 is released. Halo 3 will get the majority of my time.

I still have Halo 2 and would just borrow the 3rd from my coworker. I still have his GoW I haven't even popped in yet and I'll get Bioshock from him when the time's right.

Okay I'll buy that, many a good game was swallowed up by the bohemeth that was Halo2, Unreal Championship 2 anyone? But at the same time NOW there are a shitload of Halo haters out there who will support the other two titles out of spite for the Halo franchise which is simultaneously stupid, and fine with me. Also I'm really fucking glad they postponed the release of Unreal Tournament III till next year. I know they said they were doing it because they need more time but I suspect they are really just trying to avoid being steamrolled by Halo again.

I have absolutely no interest in Halo 3, but COD4 looks great, and you can't argue that Orange Box is a giant value for the amount of game you get with it.

While GoW is awesome as a single player game, it's a billion times better in co-op mode. You should really try to hook up online with someone to play through it or have your buddy play it with you.

I might do that. It'll be hard for him, though, since I have his disc and all. And I'll have it for a while - Metroid has priority.

You must know some truly retarded people man.. I personally never played Halo 1 or 2 mutli.. The single player sucked hardcore on both games. I'm still unsure if I will get Halo 3 or not but I know 100% I am getting COD4 and it's surely not out of spite of Halo..

Anyone who would support another title solely for the fact of disliking another title??

Are you kidding me? Fuck yeah there are people out there who will support another title out of spite. Don't you know it's cool not to like Halo now?

I'm not getting Halo 3 or COD4, but the Orange Box will be mine.

Edit: I will get Halo when the price comes down. I'm just not interested in COD4 at all.

I am much more interested in the Orange Box than Halo 3 or COD4, but purely based on the single player campaigns. I thought Half Life 2 was an immensley better single player game than Halo 2, and Episode 1 improved on HL2 even more. I fully expect Halo 3 to dwarf the other 2 games, which is unfortunate IMO, because people will be missing some (potentially) great games.

But I didn't play multiplayer in Halo 1 or 2 which I understand is probably the draw for most people.

I am still getting Halo 3 day one, mostly because of some good preorder deals.

You hated both single-player campaigns, and never played multiplayer on either, but you're still considering buying the new one?

Totally unrelated but I saw this dude on the news last night and then it reminded me of that South Park episode, "Here Comes the Neighborhood".

Well yea.. I play with a good group of guys and if they all get it then I will most likely follow suit. I didn't play Halo 1/2 MP because I didn't have Live on my original Xbox.. I'm guessing MP must be somewhat good with the following it has..

Nobody will be missing them. They will more than likely just take a backseat to Halo until a sale or price drop... or Christmas which is around the corner.

My thinking is if you don't hop on board Halo 3 from the outset, MP will be ruined by the time you do. Hence that gets a purchase first. Probably Orange second, for the single player stuff then COD4.

Having not played many games at all online (COD4 is the 1st one I've really played online on 360), what do you mean by this?
