FREE COPY of HALO 3 before the street date: http://pontiachalo3.onlinepromo.com

You have to act fast. The new contest just went up at midnight and they only take the first 250 people who solve the puzzle. As I already got my copy from the contest, the answer to the anagram is Huntsville, AL.

Good Luck for those who are reading this thread tonight.

Sorry guys, they go fast. The next 250 copies will go up at the stroke of midnight between Tues / Wed. (the 12th) and another 250 on the 15th.

FYI, this is the anagram site I used to unscramble it super quick: http://www.anagramsite.com/ Huntsville, AL was the very first entry.

This break-out box provides standard RCA and Optical jacks to run the audio separately from the HDMI.

The new HDMI-Premiums come with the regular old Component A/V pack, which is fine, except that it covers half the HDMI port making it either/or for people like me

If you weren't going to use that piece, I was going to talk to you about buying it from you. Microsoft wants $50 to solve my problem they created.
I was intending to just use the component cables for audio, as I have everything hooked up through a stereo system. If that means I won't need the piece, then sure.

Anyone know what comes in the Halo 360 box? Does it have an HDMI cable, or component?

I can't answer your question with absolute certainty, but I do know that it's not an elite. It's just a pro system with hdmi and custom paint job. Hope that helps.

Unless you're running your audio through the HDMI to the receiver, you probably will need that piece. No worries, I'll solve this eventually. Thanks.

Just like the new Pro system with HDMI, the Halo 360 will come with a component cable.

At least, that's what it says here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x...0halo3console/

If you're like me, you'll spend the 5 bucks to get an HDMI at monoprice.

It also comes with a Play and Charge kit, so it's not as bad a deal as I thought. You still pay a little extra for the paintjob, but that should be expected.

Quick question: my gold subscription ran out, and I got my sister to pick up the Xbox Live Vision set, with the card and the camera. Since she leaves in a different province, I told her to just send me the code on the card so I can start my gold again. How many digits is the code? I know I saw on Live about a 25 digit code, but I wasn't sure if that was for the subscription or to add points.

My Live Vision code was 25 characters, but I'm the US, not sure if that makes a difference.

Just activated Gold via the Vision pack last night. It says it expires 09/08. Is that the beginning, end, or same date? ie, how do they calculate 12 months?
One game was fine, but one kid in another game was talking about "white trash", and someone else sent me a message containing only the word "bitch" after a game (that I lost, and didn't quit.) Not a stellar start.

What game were you playing?

Also, check out the gamertag list and start building a friends list from this forum. That will really make a huge difference in your Live experience.

And if you want to have a good chance winning various games, make sure Martin5 is on your list. He is a nice easy target.

It should expire at the end of September 2008.

In the past, the one year live expiration dates have not meant that much. People have been successful redeeming codes long expired.

YMMV of course. And as long as you redeem before the expiration date you'll get the whole year.

Yes but the conversations he'll be subjected to and the messages he'll recieve will be much more colorful than what he's already encountered. I think maybe he's looking for a more wholesome gaming experience than I have the ability to offer.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground demo is supposed to be up sometime today. I don't know if I can go back to that style of skating after playing skate. though.

There was a funny interview over on GameTrailers with the president of Neversoft talking about how they wanted to make it playable for the crowd who wants the sim, and the crowd who wants the over-the-top non-realistic skating that the TH games are so well-known for. Sure, you can play it like a sim and just do kickflips and shuvits, but you'll never progress anywhere in the game, as you need to do 500,000 point combos and the like to pass objectives. Boneheads!

I don't mind "colorful" as long as it's entertaining/funny, and not directed at me
Sadly enough I was playing Uno and the Lost Planet demo. The later games of Uno were better, though I was having trouble with my headset.
I've added about a dozen names from the gamertag list here, mostly names I recognize from here; although that's no guarantee they will recognize my name.

Put your gamertag in your dvdtalk Sig. Also, when you send requests let them know you're from dvdtalk. Dvdtalkers get an automatic add from me because you really can't go wrong adding them. Dvdtalkers can be assholes, but they're not your typical LIVE asshole. j/k

You find it's fun playing with Dvdtalk assholes....wait, that sounded dirty.

Anyway, when I get a request and I'm not sure where the person is from I'll wait before adding them. I don't want to get requests from people just because they realize they can own me and want to use me for cannon fodder.

So should we just assume that you won't be picking up Halo 3, Orange Box, or CoD4 Robo? That may force you to actually play with DVDtalk people. :P

I'm not sure what Halo 3 is, but I'll be playing Eternal Sonata next week.
