Well, my wife has finally found a 360 game she wants to play. I showed her the trailer for Beautiful Katamari and she is 100% on board with it.

I am so glad I don't have to buy a PS3 to play this game, I felt so icky getting a ps2 to play the other ones.

Gamestop makes none of its profits from new games. The margin is so little that if they bought ungodly amounts of every game, they'd have gone broke a long time ago. This is one of the reasons for the reservation system, to gauge how many people want a game, and to ensure they get a copy. A game with only a few reservations is going to get 1 to 4 copies sent to the store above and beyond the reserved number. A game with lots of reserves will get over 100 copies of the game shipped to that particular location.

This used to work to their advantage when they got games before major retailers, but now Best Buy/CC/Target/Wal-Mart pretty much all get many more copies of the game and at better prices than what Gamestop offers.

Well, I've spent some time looking for package deals, etc and there doesn't seem to be anything out there for the Elite. Unfortunate that they do packed-in games on the Premium at some stores but nothing on the Elite. About the only thing I saw was at Amazon with a HD-DVD package, which I don't need since I already have HD-DVD.

Guess I'll go in to CC tomorrow morning and pick it up since they had it in stock tonight. If anyone knows of an Elite deal that I've missed let me know. Thanks!

It's stupid, but in Game Stop/EBs case, its intentional.
I went to Steak & Ale in Indiana one year on Christmas Day for dinner. They were completely out of steaks. And in IN, it's illegal to sell any alcohol anywhere on Christmas or New Year's Day for some unknown midwestern reason. So the Steak & Ale had no steak and no ale.

Just felt like sharing that.

I like Hexic a lot, but it's a freebie. I wonder if it would be worth coughing up 800 points (even with that recent CC point buying spree) for the sequel. OXM gave it a pretty good review, but after they praised Wing Commander and marginalized Pac Man CE, I'll take any XBLA game review they have with several grains of salt.

your job is to systematically build your katamari to mammoth proportions. You start small, pick up everything in the same relative size or smaller and continue to do so before your katamari levels up. Each time it levels up, you are able to pick up bigger and bigger things

eventually you start picking up continents

Thor - I think CompUSA has the Pro (maybe not HDMI) with Madden and a 2nd wireless controller for $410.

I just ordered a Pro w/HDMI from Amazon yesterday - the regular $350, but no shipping or tax.

You could always sell the HD-DVD addon from that package deal, if you wanted 300 and the other available DVDs.

How do you know you are getting the one with HDMI?

Edit: I see the link to the HDMI version on their product page!

Thanks... I'll order this instead.

Looks like they have a specific page for that model now - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...d_i=B000B43OY4

BTW, Thor, have you checked Target? That's where I got mine and I signed up for a Target CC to get it for $314.99 + tax ($341.83 here). Still a better deal overall for me than Amazon and I got it immediately.

Not to hijack this thread much further, but a few years ago I went to Staples and, no joke, they were out of staples. Their tag-line at the time was "yeah, we got that"...

Ya we can't buy alcohol on Sunday's either. Hell we can't even buy it on New Years day. Now that one is stupid!! At least bars are still open though.

That Beautiful Katamari game is weird. The point of it seemed fun but the controls sucked ass. I've never played the series before so i was looking forward to giving it a go. Gotta say i'm a lil disappointed in it.

It's not illegal for them to serve you alcohol no matter what day it is (election days are the exception and that's only for a certain period of time) So the Steak and Ale most certainly had Ale, they just couldn't sell it to you carryout.
