I've played the skate demo about 7 or 8 times now and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. The timing on grinds can be difficult at first. I really didn't find it that hard at all. The learning curve is just steeper than TH

skate. is just plain awesome! I love the feeling you get when you nail a little combo like a kickflip into a tailslide into a heelflip into a manual or simple like that. That would be pathetic in Tony Hawk, but here, you actually feel a little bit of accomplishment in pulling it off.
I don't know if I'll pick it up on release, but it's definitely being added to the library by the end of the year. Tony Hawk is dead to me!

i totally agree. I think once you get the ollies down, its just about nailing your approach when grinding, and you're basically there.
I love hitting those double ledges by the bowl/half-pipe. Took me a bit to get the hang of grinding, gapping the ledge, then landing in a grind again, but my God is that satisfying. It kinda takes me back to my skating days.

I'm really liking skate, as well. It just feels more like real skating, and like everyone says the sense of accomplishment is much more rewarding when you pull something off.
Someone is going to make a bunch of money when they make a good skating game that has online skateparks and communities.

Circuit City (bastards) have a buy 2 games $20 and under for $30 deal this week.....not many good 360 games in that range, but I'm thinking about getting Viva Pinata and LEGO Star Wars II. Both good games for $15 a piece? I know plenty of you guys have said good things about them.

There is a new version of Lego Star Wars on the horizon that includes both games, new characters, levels, etc. Just something you should be aware of.
Viva Pinata is a must own. LSWII is a fun little game, but if you are a completionist, the collecting can become quite tedious.

Anyone playing The Bigs? In the pinball mode, the pitcher throws this low pitch that seems impossible to hit .. It gets thrown a lot when your score is high and you are down to just a ball or two .. anyone gotten around this?

From CircuitCity.com, here is the list of games under $20:
Madden NFL® 2006 (Xbox 360™) $8.96
Eragon (Xbox 360) $16.96
Disney's Meet the Robinsons (Xbox 360) $16.96
Blitz: The League (Xbox 360) $19.99
Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Volume 1 (Xbox 360™) $19.99
Table Tennis (Xbox 360) $19.99
LEGO Star Wars II (Xbox360™) $19.99
Viva Pinata (Xbox 360) $19.99
Cars (Xbox 360) $19.99
Project Gotham Racing® 3 (Xbox360™) $19.99
Viva Pinata is definitely worth getting. Lego Star Wars is good, but like others have said, I'd wait for the rerelease. PGR has been well-received, so I'd go with that if you like racing games. Otherwise, it's slim pickings.

I wanted to chime in on Two Worlds a bit since I've had a few people message me on Live asking how the game was.
I think the most upsetting thing is the lack of some kind of tutorial. Since I rented it the lack of a manual makes learning things very annoying. I have learned a bunch of things from just playing but I am still clueless about some things.
The weapons, skills and abilities you start with are very frustrating. They ALWAYS send groups of enemies at you and since you start off with crap the first bit of fighting is very rough. Until I could win some fights and carry a larger weapon I struggled with fights. After winning more fights I was able to upgrade my skills and now I can swing two blades.
As far as magic I am clueless. There is a summon spell in my inventory which it seems I should be able to use but it won't let me equip it. I need to find a manual or forum online today to see what the hell is going on.
Most missions I have done so far require no searching once you get to the area in question. As soon as you find the area someone asked about a message pops up that the objective has been completed.
Graphically this game is a nightmare. It is very tough to tell what items are in your inventory at first glance. I walked into a foggy area of the game and I am hoping the resulting image on the screen was a glitch and not how the designers thought the game should look. Oblivion set the bar very high so I am always thinking about that game while playing this one. If the game was polished a bit more it would be far more stunning.
I have yet to play online. I am waiting for my buddy to get the game before I try that out. As much as a part of me wants to just return the game I know that my buddy would be pissed if I did.

Obviously it is YMMV, but I have never had any issues using the expired coupons. That is of course, if you still have any.

Hudson Increases the Payload with New Content and Game Modes
REDWOOD SHORES, CA - August 27, 2007 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for Hudson Soft, today announced that they are releasing Bomb-Up Pack 1, the first add-on pack for their "IGN Editor's Choice Award"-winning Bomberman LIVE game for Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade. This new add-on pack will add over a dozen new features, including ten new characters, two additional levels, two new leader boards, and a brand new game mode. Bomb-Up Pack 1 is expected to launch on August 29 and will cost 350 Microsoft Points ($2.80).
With these add-ons, players will be able to further enjoy the frantic, explosive action of Bomberman LIVE in new areas, including "High Stakes," a Las Vegas-style casino level, and "Zeppelin," a level set aboard a dirigible which features tornado environmental hazards that incapacitate players.
"With the overwhelming success of Bomberman LIVE it became clear to us, as Bomberman fans and game producers, that the already stellar game could be indefinitely augmented with myriad gameplay additions in the future," said John Greiner, President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "Hudson is committed to providing refreshingly competitive, fast-paced multiplayer gameplay over Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade."
This Bomberman LIVE add-on pack will add the following features:
Ten New Characters - With new characters like "Little Bomby Foo Foo" the bunny and "Rocky Bomboa" the boxer, players can customize their in-game Bomberman in countless new ways.
Two Additional Levels - New arenas include "High Stakes," a Las Vegas-style casino level that allows players to select any gimmick they want, and "Zeppelin," a level set aboard a dirigible which features tornado environmental hazards that incapacitate players.
One New Game Mode - "Frag" mode will allow players to pre-set the number of enemies they must bomb in order to win the game.
Two New Leaderboards - Dominate the competition on two new ranking systems on the Xbox LIVE(R) network. The new leaderboards will track performance on both a weekly and an all-time basis for the new "Zeppelin" map.
About Bomberman
Originally launched in the US in 1987, the game captured gamers' hearts with its simple yet challenging gameplay. With over 60 iterations on nearly all major consoles since then, and over 10 million units sold, winning accolades as the best multiplayer game of all time, this classic game has stood the test of time. The overall design appeals to gamers of all ages, and to both men and women. The game is simple enough: from a top-down perspective, you compete against other players in a grid-like arena. Your only weapon is a bomb, which you can drop to clear out obstacles or to knock out your opponents. Players can pick up upgrades, which become available when they clear obstacles, to increase their chances of winning. The game is fun, yet frantic, and brings out the most competitive spirit in all of us!
