Peggle was one of my incredible discoveries when I ordered the Orange Box from Steam and got the Valve themed version for free. I ended up buying the full game and loved it. Definitely would buy it again for the DS. I've been tempted to buy the iPod version.

I finally found a DS Lite at Toys R Us... I opted to get the white one and cancel my preorder on the cobalt one... All I can say is wow, I didn't realize how much I'd missed my DS.

Holy hell, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is great. I got it as a birthday present.. was apprehensive but I knew it was an RTS so I gave it a shot. It's kind of like Warcraft Lite (no buildings, etc.) but that's not a problem at all.. then you add in leveling up and item collecting/building.. I am hooked.

Please, for the love of all things.. EA, I am BEGGING you..

Spoiler:
Red Alert DS

xmiyux 02-09-08 07:10 PM

This evening my daughter was playing the DS and it gave the red light which is odd since i knew i had plugged it in the night before. I go and plug it back in and the orange light lights up for like 30 seconds and turns off. Has anyone heard of it crapping it like this and not seeming to take the charge (and switch to the green light to indicate it is charged)?

I hope Dragon Quest IV ends up coming to North America. It looks great. Anyone heard any news regarding that?

I heard of it, I work at a Gamestop...

I would either:

1.) take it to the shop if you got it from for the prp (product replacement plan), if you got it within the year.

2.) Take it up to Nintendo if you don't have the prp from the store you got it from, Nintendo usually has warranties under its systems. They could either fix it for free (when they did with my DS snapped off) or they could charge you a fee for doing so.

Just contact Nintendo by going through their website or giving them a call (their number is at the website). The official number for Nintendo USA (for troubleshooting, system set-up, and repair) is 1-800-255-3700

Who says that Gamestop employees don't look out for customers? :)

New battery?

That would also be the case too....though the thing is, I believe the battery is discontinued and would be hard to find...

Like I said, I would most likely take it up to Nintendo as their customer service is excellent.

xmiyux 02-10-08 08:33 AM

My wife had bought it for me and actually got a PRP - but that year is up. I'll check out the Nintendo site. Thanks!

edit: it looks like they sell batteries on their website. That will run me 15 +shipping and it looks like repairs/replacement run like 75$ so i will go the battery route first.

I finally made it to the last level (on normal) on Contra 4. I got there without using a continue. Then I got my butt kicked. I'm not buying or playing another game until I beat this one.

I really like the Cobalt DS. I have the Crimson because that's all I could find at Christmas time. I was lucky to even get that. But really I could not care less what color the outside is.

I picked up Professor Layton and the Curious Village today. This thing is fun. Gorgeous animation and fun puzzles. If you like logic puzzles, I highly recommend this game.

I was staring at it today at Target but convinced myself not to get it until I see some more reviews. Anyone else get this and have thoughts about it?

When did Final Fantasy III get so cheap? I just scored one for $12 shipped on eBay :D.

Not that surprised. Once you accomplish all the side quests theres not much replayability on this title.

PixyJunket 02-11-08 08:48 AM

Professor Layton is out? :( I already have too many good portable games!

xmiyux 02-11-08 08:59 AM

Yes and so far it is really good.

I also picked this up yesterday and I agree completely. There's a nice variety in the puzzle types, including visual puzzles, logic puzzles, math puzzles, riddles, and trick questions. The visual style reminds me of Porco Rosso or The Triplets of Belleville, and the music has a very "European" feel to it. A very unique game and highly addictive.

The bottom half is a matte black and the top is a glossy blue. Dead sexy.

You post was the last thing I read before heading out to lunch. I hop in the car and the first song I hear on the radio:

I was contemplating getting Professor Layton when I saw it at CC last week (20% off all DS games), but my backlog is enormous. Still ended up picking up the new Advance Wars and Bleach DS (have the Japanese version, but I can actually understand all that text now!)

fumanstan 02-11-08 01:22 PM

I caved and bought Layton on my way to work this morning. I'm prepared to feel like a moron for being unable to figure out puzzles that a 6th grader can do. :)

gimmepilotwings 02-11-08 01:41 PM

I picked up the latest PW game. I plan on playing that as soon as I get my replacement DS from Nintendo.

Yavin 02-11-08 02:37 PM

Just picked up Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Adding it to my pile of games to play.

darkside 02-11-08 03:32 PM

Professor Layton is awesome. When I was a kid I used to love buying Games Magazine and this is basically a game built around those kinds of puzzles. Games like this are the reason I love the DS and I only hope I can finish it before Apollo Justice comes out.

BTW, there is already a puzzle available through the Nintendo Wi-fi link and it is a match puzzle that kicked my ass.

Level 5 is definitely proving they are one of the top developers in Japan. Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy, Jeanne D'arc and now the Layton series. Take a bow Level 5 you are the new Square to me.
