Crap maybe that was my problem, I was using Avant Browser.

edit: Nope didn't work with IE either. I just ended up calling them, which isn't that easy either.

i just tried to register a device to my account (using IE in a virtual machine) - again it says "a problem occurred, and your request cannot be completed".

I requested my coffin over a week ago and it still hasn't arrived. So I went out and bought a new 360 last night. Got the Pro bundle with the two free games.

I figure once my unit is repaired I'll just sell it or trade it in. I'm not going 6 weeks+ without my 360.

Surprisingly I didn't have any of the problems that I've read about elsewhere getting all my old content on the new machine. I just snapped on my old hard drive before turning on the new unit for the first time, and everything was as it should be.

I called to check on my repair order today, and was told that it was not approved (WTF). So I had to request another order with the agent I was speaking to. He told me it would take about 5 days before I got the box to send my 360 back in, it's going to be a long cold December. Mass Effect, COD 4, Rock Band, & GH3 will be just collecting dust for the holidays.

Try playing the content offline or on another gamer tag that didn't purchase the content.

I'm really not sure he said sorry the repair wasn't approved, then he said he would have to file a new one. He claimed if you placed a repair order and it wasn't approved in 24 hours it was no good.

Well I tried the towel trick and it bought my 360 back to life. I know it won't last long, but as long as I can get some play time in till my coffin arrives.

What is the towel trick? More info or a link Please. I would love to play some COD4 untill my coffin gets here.

Wrap your 360 in a towel and let it run for a little bit. Supposedly this allows the heat to build up inside and re-solder some connections or cause the graphics card (i think it is the graphics card) to warp back into shape. Some people have had it run perfectly after this for a long time... most it is just a temp fix.

So I'm getting close to selling my 360 as it randomly freezes and last time I talked to MS the best they would do is 100 total to fix it. I'm sick of it and have way too many other things I need to do before I can justify blowing 100 bucks on XBox that I don't use much anyway. I've alerted the potential buyer of it's status and he's ok with that. Before I go ahead and commit to selling it, has MS changed it stance at all? Is it still 3 years just for RROD problems and not for anything else?

Not that I know of. Most people would force the PROD just for the free fix.

Thanks I off to try it. He mentioned the new chips, are thy fixing the problem? I want to get an elite for the hdmi output but don't want to spend the money if they still have the RRoD problem.

Step 1 - you cut a hole in the box.
Step 2 - you put your junk in that box
Step 3 - send that box back to MSFT

Funny thing when I dropped off my coffin at the UPS store was that the girl there totally knew what it was without even reading the address label. If that's the case, this has to be a huge epidemic.

same when I dropped mine off, they knew what it was, and actually said, "Wow, its been a whole day since I've seen one of those."

I got mine back today, and it was my same 360 (same Serial Number, etc) Reconnected, re-entered the network settings, etc (would have thought those were stored on the Hard Drive, but must not be?), and started it up long enough to see that when it went out, it corrupted my Halo3 save file (that's the game I was trying to load when it RROD, and I was able to load a save game for MUA with no issues), so I deleted that save file and restarted and all seemed good. Haven't had a chance to really put it to the test though.

Hell, when I was sending in my first 360 there was a guy ahead of me who was sending his too. From what I've heard they pretty much get 360 Coffins all day long.

Okay after the towel trick my 360 is still working, but the wireless adapter keeps saying it is not connected. Did I mess up that usb port somehow? Anybody else experience this?
