Xbox 360 Thread - part 5?

Being on my third 360, I don't disagree, I also think it's bullshit.
I'm just trying to see it from their perspective. Maybe if they addressed it a few months back, but I just revealing it all right now would be detrimental in their campaign to "defeat" Sony.

I won't argue about your assessment of their perspective. Obviously THEY know its a problem and you're right about it not being good for them...
but essentially, their idea of it being swept under the carpet is absurd, considering how many customers were fucked over by this

Just so I understand--how were YOU fucked more than me? Did you lose money or were just 'grounded' from playing your little xbox360?

who said I WAS fucked more than you?
you say 'grounded', as if you assume I'm some kind of teenager, which would inadvertently place you on a higher moral ground or something....

I want you to think of me as a normal guy. You just sound really emotional about the subject. I was wondering if you were one of the people that MS had really hurt financially or something over the broken xbox fiasco. I too, have had to send in my xbox but at no great emotional/financial cost, thank God.

me personally, not really. I've always found 'other' methods to cut the wait time down when needing a replacement.
I think the worst I've had from the problems that really affected me was when the damn thing ate 2 of my games.
I'm more put off about the fact that they neglect the problem as opposed to them having a problem in the first place

Yea, where did he said he was F'd more than you?

The fact is there's an obvious manufacturing defect that they fail to publicly address. Some of you may trivialize it because it is a "toy", but the fact remains that it is inexcusable to most consumers.
It sure would go a long way for people like me that don't think buying an extended warranty should be par for the course if Microsoft would just come out and say there's a problem and that they're working on fixing the current production line.

Hour of Victory gets a 2.0 (out of 10) on Gamespot
Damn that's harsh.
Hour of Victory gets a slightly better review on IGN (5.7 out of 10)
Hour of Victory is practically broken and has no business being on shelves in its current state.
The Good
* Thankfully, no one is forcing you to play this game.
The Bad
* Entire game is full of bugs, ranging from clipping issues to full-on crashes
* Ugly graphics make character faces look like hideous zombies
* Easy, short levels do not give the game lasting value.
With a generic name that sounds like it was pulled out of a hat full of "World War II" words, it's easy to feel like Midway's Hour of Victory is nothing more than a shameless attempt to trick people who already purchased Call of Duty or Medal of Honor games. But Hour of Victory utterly fails at this attempt. On the disc lies a world where tanks clip through the ground, where the game randomly decides to stop working, and where clubbing someone with the back-end of a rifle is far more effective than actually firing it. Hour of Victory is broken in several spectacular ways; and no one, under any circumstances, should play this game.

Hour of Victory would have been a great Xbox game if released a few years back. But we’re on the next generation of consoles now. That means we expect AI that is at least competent and textures that aren’t just brown smudges. Hour of Victory is nothing more than a poor knock-off of Call of Duty. It’s hardly worth your time. Though, if you don’t mind the weak AI and boring level design, you can probably get a few moments of joy from Hour of Victory. Like when you return it to EB for store credit. That sure put a smile on my face.
6.0 Presentation
The story has some promise, but nFusion didn’t do much with it in the end. The menus and features are barebones.
5.0 Graphics
War is hell and hell doesn't look so good.
6.0 Sound
The music seems like it could have come from any other WWII game, but it works well enough. The sound effects and voice acting are sub-par.
6.0 Gameplay
There’s nothing special about Hour of Victory. It works, but that’s about all it has going for it.
4.0 Lasting Appeal
The campaign is only 5-6 hours long and the multiplayer isn’t worthy of even a free Xbox Live subscription.

But how do these games ever get through Sony's, Nintendo's, and Microsoft's approval process? They claim that they are strict on approving games, so how do turds like this slip through?

Another thing to think about is that a lot of games start out being made by fledgling developers trying to make something bigger then they're capable of. By the time their budget is used up, the game is only halfway done and publishers will release unfinished games just to recoup any costs rather then pump more money into a project.
