Wow, although I remember a past post about "Ninja Spirit" I had forgot about being able to buy old Turbografix games.

after finally being able to play a Wii game online, it now seems obvious why Nintendo doesn't include voice chat in the majority of their games.
it also becomes more apparent why they try to make it a bitch to play with your friends as well. it apparent they do NOT want to cater to the lowest common denominator, and I applaud it

i feel its more of a deturrent. they put hurdles/hoops for you to jump through in order to make sure you only play with people you want to play, or be subjected to them.
comparing this to XBL, where anyone can just jump into any random game and say what ever they want, if I had kids, I would definitely think twice about letting them play online, based on these jerks that seem to be wide-spread on their service.

exactly...
i mean, I'm 24, I can deal with it...easily. i think the environment is just 'safer'. Obviously there are steps on XLB to ensure this doesn't occur, but it's a simple fact that you have to "go out of your way" to be able to have that clean environment. I feel nintendo is setting it up that way off the bat to keep it that way, considering the wide variety of people that would play a game like mario kart, or mario strikers.
i know playing ranked games online for Strikers, there was a few times I blurted out curse words

But on the 360, you can set up parental controls so that your kids can only people play with people on their friends list, and you can lock down their friends list too. I'm not sure how anyone can say that the Wii's online setup is better than Live. If anything, it's just more crippled. I enjoy the Wii, but the online capabilities are crap. Why not have a universal friends list?

i don't believe anyone tried to make that statement.........ever.
i'm saying its geared towards the lowest common denominator, or really, to discourage it. i wasn't trying to bring subjectivity into this, considering how pointless that is to argue

Personally, I don't even have the desire to play Wii games online. It's not worth the hassle. Is there even a lobby that you can play random people in?

Question about Mario Strikers...does it require the nunchuk AND the Wiimote, or just the Wiimote? Need to buy another, and wanting to know if I need one or both.
