That's better. Majority doesn't equal everyone.

Many fans are still hold outs from the NES/SNES days when Nintendo made games more for the hardcore gamer crowd.

They've gotten away from that, and that's fine. At least we still get one or two Mario, Metroid and Zelda's per console. And hopefully with the Wii third parties will fill in some of the gaps which were left wide open on the N64 and GC.

If not, I'll have no qualms selling the Wii after getting through Mario, Metroid and Smash Bros.

Of course not all Nintendo fans love these type of games, but clearly the majority of them do. The sales figures prove this.
It's just one of those things where some people are looking for something with a little more depth out of the Wii. Mini/Party-Games are great, and definitely a lot of fun with 2+ people and easily the reason why the Wii is so popular, so it doesn't surprise me that the sales are so high for them.

For me, they're fun and a nice little distraction, but honestly I feel like i'm "over it" as far as the Wii controls and these type of games. The initial appeal is gone and one of my concerns, as it has been since the Wii's launch, is that all the "mom's, grandmothers, uncles, sisters" and whoever that never gamed will get bored too.

Came out Memorial Day. Be warned it is very short and doesn't have much replayability, imo.

Yeah, I love the game, but that one stays on the PC emulator as it's just too short too pay $8 for and hard to replay more than once every 5 or more years.

I saw 5 Wii's in the console cage at Best Buy(Torrance CA on PCH) today so I'm guessing they're easier to come by right? I was tempted to get one but I owe a friend some money so I backed down.

Not really. Best Buy wouldn't have sold them to you if you asked for one, they have them in the ad for this Sunday as a minimum of however many guaranteed in stock.

I've still not seen one in stores here, but not surprising since I only go to CC, Target and BB and all of them have still been hoarding them for an ad once a month or so.

I don't know man, when I spoke with the blue shirt he was going to get me one. But I told him I just wanted to know if they were getting easier to find because I didn't want one today. Now, unless there's something in the system that said, "don't sell", I think I would've had one. I mean IIRC, they normally keep them in the back when they're saving them for Sunday.

They probably put them out by mistake, not surprising given the rank incompetence in these stores. It's definitely in the ad for this Sunday.

Not sure whether they system would have blocked them though.

I still have yet to see a Wii in any store I frequent. I've had to help a few people at work get them and even with the store ad and tracker info it's been a chore.

The good news is that if you don't like the controls you can always switch to the classic Gamecube controller.

Is that true? That's cool they did that. But it's actually starting to bug me. I think some of the low scores in general that you see for some Wii games is because of the reviewers bias against Wii controls.

I never had a problem with them

sure, you get those random games where you are completely clueless, at first, as to what they want you to do, or what range of motion works best, but anyone that really focuses on the task at hand can formulate some routine to get the job done.

Yeah, the reviews of controls will always be mixed for the Wii. One will just have to read the reviews and see whether the particular gripes are things that bother them about the Wii controls or not.

I tend to side with reviews that are harsher on them, as aside from Zelda I've not played a game where I was a big fan of the motion controls yet.

Others who've uniformly loved them should pay more attention to reviewers who don't knock the controls.

This weekend we had a weekend getaway in the middle of East Texas. We stopped off at a Wal-Mart in Mineola, Tx of all places and saw probably 4 or 5 Wiis in the case there, however, when we went to a Wal-Mart in Tyler, which is much bigger and about 30 minutes away, we did not see any. I think it must be easier in most small towns to find them if you want, but, the larger areas probably still have a scarce supply.

So what kinds of Miis has everyone made? I tried to make a Peter Griffin Mii last night, but without the chin it just looked like a fat guy.

How long do you think until they release an "accessory pack" for the Mii Channel?
