Maybe b/c of the Kanji? fortunately i played enough Japanese games, i learned the characters, it's pretty cool actually (i mean the Kanji characters). I just started the game, so far so good... Didn't know the Kanji for rejuvenation, learned something new there...

Just one?
I guess the one that haunts me the most is Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits. It wasn't a very good game but I got all the way to the end of it, and just couldn't quite beat the final boss. I found out that there was an easy to beat him, I just need to buy some Dark Amulets or something to that effect that neutralizes his worst attacks, but I'd have to go all the way out of the final dungeon to get them and then go all the way back. I just never worked up the desire to do it. I finally sold the game, and I felt so bad that I actually rebought it (for $4.99) but I still haven't finished it.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - I played it about 75% through and then just stopped one day and never went back
Resident Evil 4: Got annoyed at one of the button mashing parts near the end and never finished.
World of Warcraft: For some reason I keep playing and playing this game every day and it never ends?????????

I also made it to the end of Kingdom Hearts but then had to put it down and haven't played that one since I believe 2003.

Too many to name, but the one that really comes to mind is Legend of Dragoon, a JRPG for the PS1. I played about halfway through a couple of times, but that was a long game and I just ran out of steam.

Me too. I have yet to finish Oblivion or Rainbow Six Vegas for 360. On my PC I am in the middle of Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer 3 and I just bought Supreme Commander. After playing SupCom for an hour I'm ready to go buy something new.
I barely finish anything. I gave up on God of War II with a little more to go. Stopped playing both Guitar Heroes, I'd say the last time I solidly beat a game quickly is when I decided to beat Metal Gear Solid in one day. That was a long day.

Me too. Kinda got fed up with sailing. Never got the damn song that allowed you to travel faster....
That game was great, however.

Most of the games I play I never finish. Though I just went back and finished Zelda:TP and did the same to Wind waker a while back. The one game I can think of that took me years to beat was Jurassic Park for snes. Think that took around 5-6 years to finally finish.

Mine would have to be Starcraft - I started it at various times in the almost 10 years since it has been out ... I did finish it a couple of months ago though - so I am disqualified - Although I havent made it through the Brood Wars yet ... Maybe by 2017 ....

Figures. I think I gave it a few tries and was good. Usually I have to finish everything I play but Just getting that far left me satisfied. I don't think I had enough energy tanks to have a beat it and didn't feel like backtracking. I remember it was close though, I probably could have beat it with a little determination.

I have a bunch of 'unfinished' ones myself, but the one that sticks out for me is Final Fantasy VII. I just never finished it. I had the damn thing pre-purchased, picked it up at a midnight launch, and I just never finished it...and I don't know why, because I loved the game. Hmm...

Zelda:WW (stupid sailing drove me nuts, eventually just stopped playing it about 70% through)
Star Ocean 3 (stopped playing mostly when my little girl was born 1.5 years ago), play it on and off again. About 85% complete too.
Dragon Warrior VII - I played through all the way to the end boss. He kept kicking my ass. Never did get around to beating him. I'm at the last save point. Despite my love for Dragon Quest. I hate level grinding so I never did beat it.
Baldur's Gate 1 or 2 - Man, I love BGII - but I always keep restarting the game and playing it again, or a different way. I've never got farther than 70% of the way through it and that was only once. Most the time I get about halfway.

Now it's time to finish WarCraft III.
There's also Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment, the Bloodmoon segment of Morrowind, Baldur's Gate.
I might go back to BG 1 since it's the game that I've most recently played. I just find it so boring...
