I'm definately excited with this one too. It's gonna be tough, but I'll totally rock it like Beet Hoven.

Well, looking at the set list.. I hope they (or someone) will revisit the 80's again. I would still love to see some Prince, AC/DC and Triumph.

I was totally ready to sell my PS2, GH1, GH2 and controllers to finance the 360 version...until MS totally screwed the pooch with the downloadable content. I still like playing songs on GH1 and there's no way I'm paying that much for them (especially when I can't even d/l all the good ones!). So I'll keep going on the PS2, I guess, unless they fix that issue.

Any good pre-order deals for this? RedOctane has free 2 day shipping and a free t-shirt. Not sure if I should just go ahead with that or if some place like Circuit City would offer something better.

Ok, I didn't want this game at all but I can't pass it up for $25 bucks.

Thanks!

Huh, that's odd.

I ordered the game with this deal this weekend and it let me do the "in-store pickup" option, even though it's not out yet. I mentioned the deal to a friend of mine, then I checked the link I sent him to make sure it was correct. I noticed that the "in-store" option was grayed out, so I just tried putting it in my cart again and it wouldn't let me do in-store for it.

I've got the confirmation receipt with the release date and store location on it so hopefully it all goes through.

If you did in-store pickup for this, you'd get an email that your order was ready to pick up, but really the only thing you could pick up was the emo wristband.

Well it is NOT $25. You still have to pay $40 + tax (and shipping if you don't do in store pickup). You will get $15 off your next purchase, so you next game will be a good deal, but not this one. I hardly ever buy anything from BB so this is not such a great deal, but if you shop there often, then it is still a great deal.

Well, I'll go tomorrow to pick up the order, so I'm not worried about it. The email says the game is ready for pickup, even if it's not.

But it definitely let me do the instore pickup last night and wouldn't let me do the exact same thing today.

BB just recently added that ability to do in-strore pickup for pre-orders which is really nice. You can do it for Rock Band right now if you wanted to, although I would rather wait incase they decide to offer an item later on for pre-orders.

So I got my order pickup email for the actual game, and the title of the email says "Your order will be ready for pick up on 7/24" but in the body of the email it says it's available for pickup. I'm waiting til tomorrow either way, but I thought it was funny.

Me, too. Since in the body it mentions nothing about the 24th, I am going to give it a shot after work.

Prepare to be shut down.

Though I did have a clerk hand me the Guitar+Game version of "Guitar Hero 2" for instore pickup when I had just ordered the Game Only version online.

I said thank you and left

I didn't say $25, I said "Effectively $25". Obviously, this is assuming that you will be doing other shopping at BB after this and would have spent that $15 anyway.

I picked up my copy at lunch today. I started on expert, and played the first 2 tiers of songs. So far, it's not as difficult as GH2, but it's still fun. I've noticed a lot more 3 button chords than were in GH2 though. Heat of the Moment is full of them.

I'm having to get used to the PS2 controller again. I've been playing GH2 on the 360 for a while now, so the PS2 one feels weird at the moment.

i can't lay off this crack A few more songs to five star and I'm done already. I figure I can get $30ish for it on ebay if I get it up by the weekend, and then I will wait to buy it when it gets under $20 or released on the box.

Went to pick this up tonight at Best Buy and they refused to give me the $15 gift card. It didn't automatically come up on the register like it should and even though I told them to look a the website they said that the ad means you have to buy all the games shown. So whatever, i'll just have to order it online anyways I guess...

So I ordered the game and GC on Sunday, picked up the game on my way home today (Tuesday) and the GC was waiting in my mailbox.

Big props to Best Buy on that - I thought it was going to take weeks.

Unfortunately I have family in town so I can't start the game right now, but it was worth getting when I did and I can wait a few days to try it out.
