Played through the first two sets today on easy. Pretty good, definately better songs than II.

I just tried to 5* everything in hard without star power. Close, but no cigar. I guess I got more groupies for the dvdtalk band I guess. We are still in the top 50, keep at it guys. Here is the link for those who haven't joined:

Also, I have infected 2 of us now with the Meet Your Maker achievement, so spread the virus amongst other dvdtalkers if points are your thing.

What exactly are groupies and how do you earn them? I see that I have somewhere around 600, but what does that mean?

Also just saw that the Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver packs are available for download from marketplace (500 points each).

500? Isn't that 100 cheaper than packs in GHII? If so, that's a good sign.

I'm going to hold off for Rock Band DLC. If Rock Band sells their DLC for cheaper I think that is going to force Activision to charge less for theirs. I also have a feeling that a lot of the songs that are available in one game as DLC will be available for the other (just like that is the case with at least 4-5 songs in the main games).

That is a viral achievement? I misread it as you had to play and beat one of the creators. Not just someone that has it. If so, I'd love to try to get that one from you. I don't know anyone that has that achievement yet.

I think all the viral ones work that way otherwise it would essentially be an impossible achievement.

Ahh.. makes sense. I know in the Shadowrun one, it actually said something like "or someone that has the achievement."

Still, I will have to try to play flair to see if I can get it.

I'm still stuck on Slipknot on expert. Beat everything else in that tier, but this song is killing me. I usually get 90+% through, but fail. I've seen the last few notes a few times. This seems to be my "Freya" for GH3. It was the same way in GH2. Could beat all the songs in the tier, except Freya. Took me a long time to beat it. Once I beat it though, I flew through the rest of the songs.

GH3 is flair's mistress.
