Someone on the Xbox forums was pointing out that the confirmed Velvet Revolver song(s?) are not included in that list, so that may not be a real/complete song list. Take it with a grain of salt, I guess.

The folks over at CAG keep insisting this isn't a confirmed list as well.
I haven't chimed in yet, but a big
to co-op exclusives, especially Suck my Kiss and Sabotage. Weak sauce. If they want people to play co-op, throw in some achievements or unlockables.

They are? Haven't seen that.
I know they're posting stuff from another guy saying it's real, and that his posts were deleted off of the GH3 forum.

well supposedly there are bands that have been confirmed but aren't on the list. So either the list isn't complete or they are holding back for DLC.

If I recall, that one is actually a cover, but Guitar Hero has been known to add in a few notes or a whole new solo (Ziggy Stardust, anyone?), so they could very well add in the Ace solo from Alive!

Any word on how much a second guitar on the Wii is going to cost. I'm not sure whether to stick with the PS2, for which I have 2 controllers, or jump up to the wii. Wireless will be nice, but it may tough to justify about $140 (90 for game/guitar combo and 50 extra guitar) vs 50 for ps2

Looks like PC owners will be joining in on the fun too: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/puzzle/gu...;picks;story;1
Hope the guitar is a Gibson Les Paul!

Just for grins, I'll ask again:
Is the PS3 GHIII controller backward compatible with the Harmonix developed GH PS2 games on the PS3? Has this been confirmed anywhere?

Found this on CAG:
Not sure how you can have 'partial functionality' out of a controller, but
Hopefully this isn't true. If they all work 100%, I'll probably go with the PS3 version to be able to play I and 80's which the 360 doesn't have. I like achievement points and have more friends on the 360, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I will never be good enough to get all the points anyway, and I don't see myself playing online co-op.
Just a quick update for those who made the leap from the PS2 to PS3. After asking around the Guitar Hero forums, I got referred by an Admin to thread asking a similar question about Guitar Hero III's PS3 controller working with past Guitar Hero games. This is the answer I got back:
Quote:
To answer your question, the GH3 controller has been tested for the following:
GH1 (PS2) - 100% functionality
GH2 (PS2) - partial functionality
GH Encore (PS2) - partial functionality
You definitely want to keep your PS2 around in order to play some of the GH titles.
So there you have it. Even Neversoft/Red Octane haven't licked it completely.

Not sure how a controller can be "partially functional" -- does that mean that only three of the buttons work, or something? Or the strumbar only registers when you press it up?
IIRC, Sony issn't making backward compatibility a priority on the PS3. They seem be taking the tactic "If it works, great. If it doesn't... did you know there are a number of great new titles coming out soon?"

My guess would be Star Power, which isn't a huge deal when you can use the button.

Thanks for the PS2-->PS3 info posted above.
The "partial functionality" phrasing is disappointing but not suprising since it's taken so long to get any clarification.
My PS2 will be moving to the basement soon anyway. I can play the GH2 games there if I ever have that compulsion and "partial functionality" translates as non-playable in reality.

Definitely not a good sign. I'm waiting it out for early reports on compatability between all 5 games( GHI, II, III, 80s & Rock Band) and guitars. Surely one of the wireless guitars will work with them all. I'm betting on the Rock Band guitar since Harmonix did I, II and 80s and knows how they are programmed.

Could be. I'm the small fish in this GH pool. I just got hooked a month ago.
