The PS2 version has invert y-axis, not sure on the wii, but it would be there you'd think.
|
yea, i'm sure it is
push the 2 button while playing |
Invert y-axis is there on the options screen. I think you have to be in a game to see it.

Man, I ordered this from Amazon, but it hasn't even shipped yet. I may just pick it up at Target, and cancel my Amazon order. The only extra I would pay is tax.
|
Did you get the free shipping from Amazon? They hold onto shit LONG after it's released just to taunt you.

This video is hilarious. Ashley can do the suplex like Leon.

I think this game is officially one of my favorite games of all-time. Playing it again on the Wii and I'm addicted all over again. This game is just pure fun.

The game engine was already one of the best executed ever, and the seamless integration of point and shoot has given a two year old game a positively innovative feel. It's a perfect mixture of third person adventure controls and light gun shooter controls. Everything else was already near perfect in this game...it's challenging without being frustrating...the variety of locations, enemies and scenarios makes a long game anything but redundant...the bosses are f'ing brilliant...the story is terrific and is postively epic in length...the weapons have enough strenghts and weaknesses to make them all useful...they even got the escort missions right, which no other game has really pulled off...and on this version, they simplified the only part that bugged me in the original, the timed button presses in the cut screens. And the replayability of this game is f'ing amazing! I've played through it twice in the past week along with both Ada missions, and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. It's like that movie you can watch over and over or that book you can't put down. If this were the only game out for the Wii, it would have been worth the purchase. Sorry if I'm gushing a bit too much, but damn did they get this game right. If Capcom made 20 games for the Wii based on this engine, I'd buy every one of them...Resident Evil 4.5...a sci-fi game...or even something licensed like a Bond or an Alien game. |

Picked up a copy at FYE on Friday night and a $10 rebate popped out.
$19.99 is a steel for this game. |
Not surprisingly, this was the #1 selling console game last week:

no, its not
on rails is what a shooter like Time Cop or Time Crisis would be the new Umbrella Corps game WILL be "on-rails" for the Wii but thats supposed to come out around the holiday (christmas) either way, your friend is talking out of his ass |
Sounds like your friend is confusing RE4 with the upcoming "Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles".
A game that is "on rails" is one where you have no control over the navigation of your character. It typically refers to light gun games, where your character is taken to an area, shoots everything in sight, and then is taken to the next area. |
Is there a deleted post that I'm missing or something?
At any rate, I'm about half way through on Professional, and it's just about perfect in terms of challenge. I cruised through on normal. Thinking back, I think most of my deaths playing this on the other systems were simply from not being able to handle the gun quickly enough...a problem that is almost completely solved on this version. I also figured out why they didn't map the B button as the trigger...because A is the "action" button for everything, they couldn't make it the "pull out your gun" button as well since firing is programmed as an "action" in the original game. The other option would have been to use the B button as the action button, which may have been better but also awkward in some ways. |

Finally finished this last night. This was my first time through any version, what a game! Took me about 20 hours.
Sadly, I had to check GameFaqs once, for: Spoiler:
Naturally, that's the part they call "the easiest boss"! I'm an idiot. Spoiler:
I tried Seperate Ways immediately after and was completely PWNED in the first sequence before I got the save point. |
I'll be playing this as soon as I'm done with Odin Sphere.
Edit: I'll be playing this after I get my 46" LCD HDTV. :) |
I'm starting this after I finish the Darkness. :)
|
I have been blowing through a lot of ammo in this game, and yet I have been focusing almost exclusively on head shots. I try to use my knife as much as possible, but when I'm surrounded it doesn't work so well. I wish the Punisher headshots were stronger.
|
the red9 is probably the strongest, being its 6.5 after you max it out. at 1.5X the damage with a headshot, it makes it a power of 9.75, which is ridiculous
get into the habbit of shooting them in the head, then rushing up to kick them |

The Red9 has the highest firepower of all the handguns once it is fully maxed. The Red9 has several cons though. It takes a lot of inventory space, it has a very slow firing rate, and by the time you actually do max out the firepower, the handgun probably won't even be your primary weapon anymore. The last third of the game, I used the shotgun as my primary weapon. |
you can actually hold the fire button down and shoot pretty darn fast when the red9 is maxed.
I use that, my shotgun (the 100 clip one), and the TMP |

I use that, my shotgun (the 100 clip one), and the TMP For example, I never liked the Striker (the last shotgun) that much. Sure, the rate of fire and shot spread was nice, but I found that I was always wishing that it would just shoot a tighter spread for more damage, as I never was up against a crowd that was big enough to justify the huge spread of wasted shot. |
