Hmmm, I was under the impression that the Punisher was better than the handgun. Damnit. So let's say I sell it now. Would I be better off picking up the first pistol, the red 9, or something else? I have the first shotgun, and the rifle with scope. I have upgraded each of the three weapons as much as I could up until this point in the game. Where I am:

i used the more expensive rifle with the 10 bullet clip for that. I mainly just went for headshots on the guys around me.

I never bought the Red9. I skipped directly from the Punisher to whatever comes after Red9. Blacktail?

I just felt like I had wasted so much money upgrading the weapons I have that it hurts me to start over with new guns. Is there a list of every gun in the game? I almost want to start over, and not waste my money upgrading the first guns you buy, and waiting until the castle and buying and upgrading those.

Oh, and I always try to shoot, stun, kick.

Don't you get the Blacktail free by shooting all those blue medallions? Or is that only the GC version? Anyway, stop going for headshots. Most of the time you're just going to shoot off the head, and the Plaga head will be exposed, and those require many more shots. Shoot for the legs, and when they're on their knees, go next to them and you should have the option to perform a suplex. In the area where you are now, What I did was use a rifle to do headshots on the guys that are far away, shooting arrows at you. If somebody was close, I'd use the pistol and use the strategy I listed above. If it was a group of guys approaching me, I'd use the shotgun.

I thought that was the hardest part of the game, so just keep at it. I barely upgraded my weapons when I was in that area (I mainly upgraded the power and capacity) because I was being stingy with my Pesetas, and I was able to get past it, although it took quite a few tries.

Again, I'm speaking of the GC version, but from what I understand the Wii version is pretty much the same.

Did you play the Cube version? The Cube version has shitloads of ammo, so you don't need to rely on kicks/suplexes/knife.

The PS2 and Wii ports reduced the amount of ammo you get by a lot.

Really? In the Cube version (which is the only one I played) you get the Punisher for 10 blue medallions and you get the Punisher with a free firepower upgrade if you get all 15 blue medallions.

This was changed in the Wii port?

Actually that is wrong. Headshots do not cause plagas to pop out. Plagas pop out completely randomly. I have shot people in the kneecap and still had a plagas pop out of their head.

makes no difference. if a plaga is going to pop out, its going to pop out, regardless of where you hit the guy.

obviously the 1.5 X damage bonus is what I go for consistently

I've only played the Wii version. I used the knife quite a bit.

I always try to go for headshots too for the 50% more bonus damage unless there are more than three enemies coming at me. In groups, I find the kneecap/stun/kick to be more effective since the kick will hurt and knock down the entire group.

I played both versions and every time I played I got all 15 medallions. I remember getting the Punisher both times. However I quit on the GC version, and I'm past the part I quit at now. I do remember not worrying about ammo so much on the GC.

I don't get the same kind of success with the suplex like I do with the kick. The fact you can hit enemies into other enemies is nice

Is the suplex more powerful than the kick? I usually go headshot, kick, knife on ground. However it's tough to do the last part when there is more than one guy since I end up getting knifed in the back if I try that.

if there's multiple guys, I kinda just run back and forth, back and forth, until the herd has dwindled enough

if you consistently do the headshot + kick thing, you'll have PLENTY of ammo

How can you run back and forth and take care of that annoying girl with you though? I don't want her to get dragged off or killed. I always like to stay in a corner with her behind me. That way everyone comes to me and I know she's protected. I also can't get surrounded that way.

what I'll do is purposely push to one side or the other (assuming you're getting surrounded) and try to essentially do the same thing.

obviously, if you get a bit overwhelmed, a nice shotty to the dome never hurt

I always try to stay a little ways away from Ashley. If she is too close, and an enemy takes a swing at me and I dodge, it is very likely Ashley will end up getting hit. I try to stay 10-15 feet away from her to prevent this.

Most enemies come after Leon anyway, so Ashley is usually pretty safe. Occasionally an enemy will try to grab Ashley and take her away, so then I just run over and cap him in the head. They move slow while carrying Ashley so it is not difficult. Then I put some distance between Ashley and myself again. Rinse and repeat.

Also, I don't think it has been mentioned, but there actually is a good use for the otherwise useless flash grenades. When a plagas is exposed, toss a flash grenade and it kills the plagas instantly. That saves quite a bit of ammo too.

Did not know that about plagas. Those bastards take a lot of shots, which eats up a lot of my ammo as well.
