SteelGearX started a good set of games tonight. I did semi-decent, but some bastard teabagged me once or twice. :)

argh923 09-30-07 03:36 AM

That might've been me. :) A friend of mine came in the room, and I teabagged him a couple of times as a joke, but I think I got the wrong guy a couple of times as well. :)

Definitely ran a good set of games...King of the Hill with Gravity Hammers is hilarious. I've got a good one I want to debut next time that I downloaded called 'Tower of Power'.

Supermallet 09-30-07 03:45 AM

Well, just beat it. It could have been longer, but the last few sections were freakin' epic. Especially the final section of gameplay right before the end. I'm now half considering picking up the Legendary Edition from Amazon. I got the Limited Edition to review, so I have the bonus disc, but I hate the stupid plastic hub they use to keep the discs in the case. I haven't tried the bonus disc yet, but it's already scratched. Anyway, the real reason I wanted it was for the cutscenes from 1 and 2 in HD, and the helmet ain't too shabby, either. For those of you who got the Legendary: Is it worth it? How do the cutscenes look? Anyone have strong feelings for or against it? Just looking for some opinions.

Edit: P.S. I need to do co-op for my review, if anyone wants to give the game a try on Legendary, let me know. Also, how do you save your progress in co-op? Do you both have to hit "save and quit" at the same time or something?

Ah, now that you mention it, I think it was you! I honestly didn't mind, I was laughing about it when it happened. As long as it was a fellow DVDTalk member, and not some little kid. :)

I really want to go through the whole game but I suck (I never beat SMB WITH the invincibility cheat on). Would someone volunteer to do online co-op with me on the easiest setting? Anyone here good enough to beat it on easy by themselves with me tagging along? :D Thanks! :)

I was just looking for a co-op partner! But I can't do easy by myself so with help I can handle easy.... none of this legendary stuff :D

That's what's great about Halo 3. You could be carefree run and gun if you want on the easier difficulty levels. But with Heroic and Legendary, you have to be a little more tactical in what you do. It's a blast.

Well, I just beat it on normal, and I'm not really good enough to beat Legendary in a decent time-frame, which is why I was looking for someone to co-op with, but we'll see. You never know.

cartman 09-30-07 11:36 AM

For those looking for a Legendary group, feel free to send me an invite (Oz Rosenberg) if you like. If you want to setup a start time today, just post here and I'll try to check back fairly frequently.

GatorDeb: if you get in a group for Legendary, it really won't be as bad as you might think (at least from what I hear), and you get the big achievement points.

GatorDeb 09-30-07 11:57 AM

cartman: can I be in your group? :D

So, is Halo worth picking up?

Played it at my cousin's house yesterday. Had some 2 and 4 player games going. Was pretty fun. I like the crazy weapons. Didn't know jack or shit that I was doing, though.

I'm just afraid it will be wasted money. I'm getting married on the 20th, then out of town on honeymoon until the 5th. Then, CoD4 comes out and that is pretty much a guarantee to get my time.

JasonF 09-30-07 01:51 PM

Finally got past that section -- a well placed spike grenade on Mr. Hammer took him out Thanks to everyone who gave me advice!

Is anyone else having any audio problems. I keep getting intermittent static coming from my right front speaker.

Getting married? Get ready to feel that wasted money feeling quite a bit. Usually prefaced by her saying "look what I picked up at the store."

Pick up Halo3, you won't regret it.

The Bus 09-30-07 05:26 PM

I'm definitely interested in playing the game in Legendary on 3- or 4-player co-op. I want to beat the game first though, then play through it again. Heroic with 4-players is pretty much a breeze.

ElementZ 09-30-07 06:18 PM

Anyone playing some MP tonight.

argh923 09-30-07 06:20 PM

I probably will later on.

Luckily she makes more money than I, so I can spend my own money on shit.

Same here; I should finish the game in the next few days, then I'd love to do a 4 player co-op run on legendary. Post here when you've beaten the game, and I'll join you.

Anyone?

MasterofDVD 09-30-07 11:14 PM

I took my vacation based on the release of this game and so much has come up I haven't beaten the campaign and I have hardly gone online. I've had lots of other fun stuff to do but I need to buckle down and play more.

Heh same here. Started my vacation on Friday and not heading back to work until October 10th. I am headed out of the country for a few days but should be back by Wed/Thurs. I will still have about a week left to blow with no plans. It will allow me time to get caught up on my games/dvds/poker/beer hobbies.

Yeah, that part took forever for me as well... Its the reason I dont play online because I clearly suck at these type games and would probably piss everyone off I was playing with.

I like my Legendary edition. No regrets. But, I played 4,000 games of Halo 2, so $130 is a very low cost per game in my mind :)

Supermallet 10-01-07 10:16 AM

What about the Halo 1/2 cutscenes? How do they look?
