Does the flashing light thing on the controller mean the battery running low. Because after I bought the play and charge kit my controller does that. I look at the battery life and there are 2 bars. I don't think 2 out of 4 bars means the battery is low. It's half used. And yes it takes foooooooreeeeeeveeeerr to charge that damn thing. I played for 2.5 hours last night with the controller plugged in and it's still at 3 bars.

It can. I've also read that it could be wireless interference as well.
As for playing while you charge, of course it will take longer because you are using the juice at the same time. Despite being plugged in, it is still going off the wireless signal. It isn't a 'wired' controller once it is plugged in, it is still wireless. |
Why not just plug the controller into a computer that's left on?

I have the charger that holds 2 battery packs and it is sa-weeeeet! It charges in about 30 minutes, and there's always a backup on the charger (I have 3 batt packs). When we're done playing, throw 2 on it and you're always good to go.

The problem with the "official" plug-and-play thing is that after a while, it doesn't hold a charge. I've had one since November, and after a few hours of charging, it runs out of steam after just a few minutes. Same with my friend who has one.

got a question, I've read where Bungie responded about Hol 3 not being a native HD resolution etc. Has there been any response about the promised Halo and Halo 2 cut scences on that third disc not being in HD and remastered, but being compressed so much that they don't even look SD on a Tv much less even being in HD like we were promised?

I just want to say...you guys all rock. I had a blast playing through some of campaign last night. But damn those huge alien walker tanks...

slightly OT considering all the chatter in here but is anyone else still waiting for their copy from CC?

Just wondering if this is normal or not or if there is a way to fix this. When I'm playing single player (either on campaign or online), the image on my plasma TV is completely filled up. But when I'm playing 2 players on one TV..the image gets shrunk and I get huge black bars on the left and right side of the screen. Why wouldn't the screen also be filled up when playing with two players??
Anyone else getting this same issue? nevermind...i guess its normal http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/25/ha...-9-hdtv-edges/ |

Man, the single player campaign is kicking my ass. I'm on Mission 2:
Spoiler:
Anyway, after spending four or five hours trying and failing to get past thata checkpoint, I have a few questions: 1. Anyone have any tips on that checkpoint? In particular, how to beat the guy with the gravity hammer? 2. Is this a particularly difficult portion of the game? If this is as hard as it gets, I guess I'll tough it out. If this is average, I think it might be time for me to drop down from hard to normal. 3. Is there a way to drop down from hard to normal, or do I need to delete my save and start from scratch? Thanks! |

If you're around tonight, I'm game for finishing. Wife's on a trip with her parents tonight, so I'll be around for a long time. |

I am playing on normal, and that section kicked my ass as well. I finally got through it though using duck and cover. Another section that I found extremely hard was the very end of mission 3. I think that I found it so difficult because I didn't have the right weapons available to me. I swear it took me about 50 tries to finally get past it.

The best tactic I found for that section was to run into the room and immediately dart to the right, where there's a little alcove. Stay there, and a few of the Brutes will come looking for you. If you're far back enough, they won't see you, but you can see them. They will turn around to head back to the high ground, and you can then rush out and melee them from behind, which is an immediate kill. That's two down. There's a third who, if you do it right, won't notice you until you're right on him, because you'll be hidden by the two Brutes you're sneaking behind. Melee him twice in a row for another kill, then start firing to cover yourself as you make your way back and to the right into one of the depressions. In there is a mobile armory which has scope guns. Pick one up and then dart in between the two depressions, taking shots as you go. If you've got grenades, lob a couple of those, as well. Hold on to any plasma grenades or sticky bombs you may have, though. Once you kill enough Brutes, the head Brute with the gravity hammer will come after you. This is where you want to use the plasma grenades and sticky bombs, as they'll stick onto him and explode. Keep backing up while jumping to keep out of his way, firing at him with the scope gun and lobbing grenades until he goes down. Then move on to the next area. At no point should you need to either storm the high ground or try to get onto the scaffolding up above. It can all be done in the first area.

Should I not be getting achievements when I finish a level? I've gotten a few for killing things, but none for finishing levels.

Thanks! Another tactic is to just jump your way to the back of the room and into the open door on the right in the back. Toss a grenade in as you approach the door (cause there's some brutes in there) and pray you live. Right through that door is a checkpoint. This is one of the many places where you can frustratingly fight your way through for hours, or just jump through the level . |
Yeah, that barracks section kind of surprised me too. All I did my second time through was throw grenade after grenade up to the top and snipe as many brutes as I could. Then I worked my way up through the side paths that you can jump through and picked off whoever i could. It certainly takes some strategy!

I'm playing on Legendary. The same thing happened to me with a few achievements on Catan too. Ugh.
