A light like the one in Africa is pretty much just one person - maybe a couple more, but nowhere near a thousand.

You're not so much in the minority as you are just wrong.

I agree that there is definitely a difference, but I think alot of that may depend on what kind of set-up you're running.

Someone with a 25" standard def tv isn't going to see the same improvements that are apparent on a 40"+ HDTV.

To me it doesn't seem like they pushed the 360 as much as they could have. Look at the difference between Halo and Halo 2 as there is more of a difference between those two games and that's on the same system. They definitely could have improved the graphics.

Well, they still had to get it out on time (relatively), and a lot of time seems to have been spent tweaking multiplayer. I think Gears of War spoiled us a little bit, but I wouldn't call Halo 3 a disappointment graphically. This is still Bungie's first game on the system, so expect the Halo to Halo 2 improvement to come on the next game, whatever that's gonna be.

I kinda agree there - Halo2 pushed the original Xbox a lot more than Halo3 does the 360 - part of that may be that they actually started developing Halo3 for the first Xbox, and switched later in development.

Alrighty, finally picked up my copy of the game today; wife and I had baby class on Tuesday and yesterday I was ridiculously sick. If you want to invite me for multi, my tag is in the sig.

Usually on between 6 and 9 eastern.

I was happy with the graphics on H3, but I can really appreciate them more after clicking the link above. The minor details are amazing.

Wow I'm totally stuck on Heroic trying to make my way to Vol. Keep getting destroyed trying to leave the small camp at the top of the hill.

Well, I finished the game on Heroic this afternoon, took me 18 hours. Loved the ending.......

I'll wait till more people are done with it before talking about it.

Oh, one last thing.....leave the credits rolling at the end of the game, to see the ending.

Now I'm off playing some multi-player.

Spoiler:
Thats part was the only part in the game were I got stuck. I had to restart the whole level and I recommend you do the same. Knowing what you are getting into, keep that Alien sniper weapon full and take your time taking down those flying brute, when they are down, take the plasma gun, and go down to kill those 2 Brutes in the tank. DO NOT DESTROY THE TANK, you'll need it to get through the level.

It's a random match type. I've had plenty of sniper/shotty matches, all swords, all hammers, all rockets, etc... Luck of the draw. they will probably put in an all sniper matchmaking option, but it's not available yet.

Saw this on the News ticker today:

The Microsoft/Bungie game Halo 3 set an all time record for one day sales with it topping $170 million for opening day. That beat the previous record held by Halo 2

Thanks DVDSTEVE2000.....I just find it hard to believe that they did not include team sniper as an option......I am sure BUNGIE has the statistics to prove that it is the most played game type......(OR is IT?) HELL, thats the only match type my friends play!! anyway.....What do you think is/was the most popular play mode?

What are the best deals for the packages? Only interested in the barebones one and the one with the bonus disc, not the one with the helmet. Thanks!

I think Team Slayer is the most popular, always has been, probably always will be. I personally suck at snipers, so I avoid it like it's a rectal exam. My buddies play it alot, so we don't play together too often, lol. Bungie is pretty good at mixing up the matchmaking playlists, so I bet it'll be an option soon enough.

I haven't picked it up yet but the comparisons at the link were still impressive as far as the Halo 3 images. It really is about the details. I also agree with Fujishig's comment about us being spoiled by GOW. I remember when I first played GOW I found myself wishing that the next Halo would be as detailed and "real lifelike" as GOW was. The Halo series was always "cartoony" to me but that was never a bad thing because the colors and design was always gorgeous to me.

But still, the style of GOW is different so it's not really that big a deal.

Seriously? I'm sure if it was that popular it would have its own default game type out of the box.
