Well, matchmaking just stopped working. When I booted up the beta, the population was at 9000. A few minutes later, 10,000. I tried to join a match no luck. I play a 60-second round of Lumines. I come back, 15,000 players. It's now about 10 minutes later. They've got over 20,000 players online now.
I tried to download Aegis Wings since Halo 3 is obviously a no-go. Nope. Download screen won't even come up.
Tonight is not the night to play this. Get some sleep and wake up early, you're not going to be finding a match in the next hour.

I went out of Crackdown to send a mass message after the download finished. now, it's not even showing up at all in Crackdown.

Supposedly, this is a fix for the "Game Over" problem:
Instead, do the following.
First, restart your Xbox 360.
Second, boot up the Halo 3 beta.
Third, while in the Halo 3 boot up sequence press up on the D-pad and hold the A button until you see the Bungie logo. If you've completed this correctly there will be a dialog box confirming maintenance has been done on your system.
Four, resume bathing in the Halo 3 Public Beta.

Got on and played one match to try it out. I had fun, but I think it'll be better playing with people on my friends list instead of random strangers. I'm guessing everybody will be on this tomorrow night since any lingering issues should be resolved by then.

I played for about 2 hours, long enough to try out 4-5 different game types and realize I suck at Halo. I couldn't seem to join a game with Mac n Tosh, I got it once and he left just as I got in.
slop101 all of the settings are under 'Profile' which should show up on the bottom of the screen as the "start" button, once inside hit 'right' once to change the tab to settings. I didn't mess with the control setup so I don't know what all is in there.

Cleared my cache last night around 11:30, set to download... got about 36% in a half hour so I decided to try out that new "low power mode" for downloads so I could go to bed. I booted it up this morning to see if it worked. Didn't work. Didn't think about it last night, but probably has something to do with this content accessing the Crackdown disc.
Anyway, I restarted it this morning and it picked up from the 36% and finished in about 6 minutes.
