Gil seems vey rare. I remember past FFs after every battle you would gain some more Gil. Every enemy so far has none. How do you make more money? Is it okay to sell weapons or are there some that i should hold on to? I'm always fearful of getting rid of weapons only to find out later i may need it.
Also is it okay to max out all jobs for all characters or should i just focus on one job for each character?

i wouldn't necessarily sell weapons just yet. if the weapon has a good attribute, you can upgrade it down the line with all those weird parts and pieces you've been collecting. plus, you can also dismantle weapons/armor to get more of those pieces to upgrade others.
seems as though they focused all their effort and energy on upgrading the characters with the crystal things, but paid virtually no attention to the weapons/armor.

Yep, I like it being a little more difficult to earn money in the game. In previous FF games it was way too easy to get money and you were never short on cash. By the end of the game my gil total would be in the millions but had nothing to spend it on....just went to waste.

i really would like a good summary of this plot. it's making absolutely no sense.

How can you tell if a new weapon is better or worse than an old weapon? Especially after you've upgraded an older weapon?

So how is everyone handling this whole crystanium thing? Are you only upgrading certain roles for certain people or upgrading everything that's available to each person? I can never tell the best way to go about these things in RPG's.

So i had decided to take it back since I haven't needed a strat guide for any of the other ff's. Looked at my receipt to try to make sure i take the right receipt back and it turns out they didn't charge me for it. Guess I'm keeping it now

i'm upgrading everything for everyone, but i do the upgrade the role that i use the most with that character first. so with lightning, since i use her as commando most, i'll upgrade that first, then do reaver, then medic. the only way that changes if i'm close to getting a skill crystal, then i'll hit that first, then go back to what i do above.

The plot makes a lot more sense and is much easier to follow if you keep up with reading the frequent datalog udates. I'm reading everything.
It also may help those who miss text-heavy RPGs.

Ten hours in and On Chapter five as well. Those reviewers that said the game is dull the first 15 hours must've been sedated. The first hour or two were kind of boring but after that I started to enjoy the battle system and story.
And I'm also loving the fact that there's no need to grind in this game. Do you have to grind later on?

that sums it up pretty well. I'll take a stab at it:
