I suspected it was -, but I'm not positive (no pun intended). No classic controller?

I have the classic, but I prefer the Wiimote for NES games typically. Although this one may not matter much since you don't have to hold B to run while you push A to jump like in SMB. Would be nice if they put that A button on the Wiimote to use for this case is all.

Even better than the original, imo.

For those still looking for a Wii (like myself), both Circuit City and Best Buy have them in their ads this weekend (according to threads in the DVD Bargains forum).

CC is once again doing the thing where they hand out vouchers an hour before opening.

Stupid question.. Do these games use the motion controls? I'm assuming not but I really want a game similar to VC2 when the gun thing comes out.

This game is awesome and was given away for free on Fight Night Round 2 for GameCube. Main reason I bought the game.

Anyone down for the Bust A Move that comes out for the Wii this week?

It has a shooting mode!

I may pick it up after a price drop or used. My wife loves puzzle games, so I think she'd like this.

My girlfriend loves the Bust A Move series, so we're definitely picking up Bash either today or tomorrow.

I just noticed its going to be $39.99, which is good since we just bought Super Paper Mario last week.

Nope. The VC games just use either the Wiimote and/or the Classic Controller/GC Controller.

NES, Tx-16 and some Gendesis game can be played with any of those, SNES and some Genesis require the classic or gc controller.

But none make use of the motion or pointing of the wiimote.

Wow, I don't know where I was when this came out. I think I'll pick up a used copy right away. I LOVED Super Punch Out!

IMO, NES Punch Out is better than SNES Punch Out. The characters in the NES game are just much more memorable. The "new" characters in Super Punch Out were pale imitations of the originals.

NES character / SNES remade character

Glass Joe / Gabby Jay
King Hippo / Bear Hugger & Mad Clown
Soda Popinski / Masked Muscle
etc

All the of the NES characters were better and more memorable than the SNES characters. And the returning characters of Bald Bull, Mr Sandman, and Super Macho Man did not seem as cool as they did on the NES. Tyson/Mr Dream were better than the lame Bruiser twins. Even Little Mac was cooler on the NES.

First gameplay video of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

I really do not like this new light-gun style of play.

Considering how shaky the Wiimote is for me this looks like the least fun I could have playing a game. Graphics are nice. Maybe I'll dig it out of a bargain bin a year or two later.

Yeah, not interested either (but then again I'm not much of a fan of the series anyway).

As for the shaky part, if this works with that light gun shell for the wiimote and nunchuck that might help you keep it steady darkside.

Forgot about that. I would also mention that everything is much steadier since I moved the sensor bar from the top of the TV to under it. I was actually kicking ass on the Duck Hunt game in Wii Play the other day.

Good to hear.. cause I really wasn't sure what you meant by "shaky." I never have a problem. My sensor bar is up top though.

I like "light gun" games though, so I'm interested. Not sure if I'm $50 interested, but I'm interested.

The RE series has always been hit or mis with me. Some of the games with have an element that really attracts me and other times there is something about the game just makes me very uneasy. The light gun stuff already makes this a rental and not a purchase. I just hope it can at the very least be a rental I feel like keeping for more than a day. If they are very generous with ammo I may actually enjoy the game.

This IGN article says that the handgun has unlimited ammo. You only need to find ammo for the more powerful guns, like the shotgun. I don't think conserving ammo will be a problem at all. I imagine it will be more like RE4 than RE1-3.

Most of my experience with Neo Geo games came from the (various, defunct) arcades around town. I knew one kid who owned the console. He also owned a solid gold puppy. Now, in an interview with IGN, SNK president Ben Herman has announced that the Wii Virtual Console will start distributing Neo Geo games this summer, bringing the greatness into the houses of a good many more people than the original console ever reached. Even better, the games won't cost $500 individually, or whatever they were, but instead will land somewhere just Northwards of the $8 SNES pricing per game.

I'm all in favor of Neo-Geo games, but I guess they will start with the earliest titles (1990 to 1992 range) when the games were much smaller in size. Considering their original $200 price tag, a $10 download will seem cheap

It'd be nice to see some exposure to lesser known Neo Geo games like Magician Lord, Blue's Journey, Wind Jammers, Shock Troopers and Twinkle Star Sprites. Hopefully they just don't poop out the countless Metal Slug games (which are already on a Wii collection) or King of Fighters games (which are all over the place on other systems).

If you read the interview, the SNK president said they won't do that (regurgitate what's already out there) - though I hope we get some Samurai Showdown quick, since the good ones in that series (1 & 2) aren't too easy to come by.
