oh hell yes! Count me in for the whole set .. Think I'll change my last name to Partridge since my family and I will be rockin!
|
I told my wife that I want this set for my birthday. Then a few days later I showed her the video that was up on YouTube. She seemed very confused already and had forgotten I asked for the game and accessories. I need a better way to remind her.

When I took her out to dinner last night I guess I must of dropped the hint a few too many times. She got very cranky about my gaming "addiction" and that is something she rarely does. So today I took a ton of stuff to GameStop for trade and paid off Rock Band and Guitar Hero III. When in doubt....do it yourself.

http://www.rockband.com/home.html Some interesting stuff there that has probably been mentioned before, but I hadn't read. I was wondering...think you'll be able to play guitar (or bass or drums) and sing as well? Would probably need a mic stand or headset mic. |
Part of me wants to buy this game and all three instruments. Then another part of me reminds the first part of me that if I do that, my wife will divorce me. Then the first part of me says "Awesome! That will give us more time to play Rock Band!"
It's great that they've got Little Steven consulting on the songs. Nobody knows rock music like Little Steven. |

im positive you'd still have to strum...
even if it were a long section of legato, you'd have to strum every once in a while |

well, I've seen Michael Romeo of Symphony X live
and he puts that fool to shame, tbh. while its true to don't HAVE to strum when using legato, it's pretty rare to see a guitarist do that unless they are doing trills or something |

Not having to strum during some solo sections is fun and certainly makes for some more impressive displays of your rock band prowess. |
So it seems that now Amazon has posted the prices for the bundle and it lists the 360 version as having a wired guitar. It's a damn shame. I already have the GHII controller, I have paid off the GHIII and Rock Band bundles so I really can't see myself wanting to spend even more cash on a wireless guitar. Hopefully this news isn't the final word but I do hope it's the final price.
|
Fuck me they had better not do a wired guitar for the 360.
It's 2007 people, cut the fucking cords. |
Can't they make a USB dongle at the least?
|
I'm pretty sure the guitar is wireless. I've read that several times. Still I've got to save $$$ so I'll stick with my current guitar -- don't know about how missing the second set of frets will hamper gameplay, if at all.
And they've gone on record saying that the Live mic will work for the game. I'm a little surprised about that seeing as the sound quality isn't great. Still that's one less peripheral to buy and we'll be able to sing and strum at the same time. Nice! Don't you think that there should be some sort of a discount if you buy the game with one peripheral? I'd like the game and the drums but $140 seems like a hefty price for those two together. Hope some deal materializes. |

Rock Band Price Revealed? If GameStop is to be believed, Harmonix's next will cost about what we expected. by Daemon Hatfield July 23, 2007 - Ever since Harmonix announced Rock Band, speculation has run rampant as to how much the game and instruments would cost. Retailers such as GameStop and Amazon have begun taking pre-orders for the band simulator, and they list SKUs for a bundle as well as each instrument sold separately. If the bundle price of $199.99 is accurate it will be right in line with what most of us were expecting. The standalone game disc is listed for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as $59.99. The drums are going for $80 and the microphone for $30. Strangely, the 360 version of the wireless guitar is listed as $80, while the PS3 guitar is $60. Electronic Arts has confirmed that the guitar from the 360 version of Guitar Hero 2 will work with Rock Band, and you can also use your Xbox Live headset as your microphone. So the only new peripheral 360 owners will definitely have to buy will be the drum set. GameStop says Rock Band will be released November 20. Of course, retailers often list preliminary price and release dates for games in order to begin taking pre-orders, and we'll have to wait for the official announcement from EA to know the final information. But it's looking likely that Rock Band will set us back two Benjamins. |
Hmmm, odd that now they're saying the headset will work. I suppose all that matters is that it picks up what you're saying and at what pitch, right? Not like they're recording your voice onto the game or your voice is coming through the TV...right?
Kind of disappointing, as now I won't get to hear how Shagrath does in his headbutting endeavors. I'm sure there won't be any deals for a guitar, drums, and game, unfortunately. I'll probably want another guitar so we can have a whole band playing, plus if it is really that much nicer. |

I wish BB would get a package set up for order .. Would love to get the Rewards points for it. Hopefully the official pricing announcement will come soon - to take some of the spotlight from GH3.
