Also make sure you do the quick calibration in the system menu, though I'm not sure that will help much. Yea, I did the sensor bar sensitivity calib but it didn't seem to help. So yours doesn't do this? |
mine is nay perfect, unless im over 10ft away from my TV

My cursor seemed a bit shaky, but then I realized I was inadvertantly twisting my hand when I was navigating the menus. When you rotate your hand, the cursor will change each time, which can make it look like the cursor is flickering. Try navigating the menus, but make sure you're keeping the wiimote level (or at least in the same position throughout), and the cursor's movements should look a little smoother.

I don't recall it doing that, but it has been a few weeks since I've turned the thing on.
I'm not saying total darkness because obviously the TV you're facing is a source of light. But if there's any other IR (like a candle) that the Wiimote can see, you're going to get some wonky behavior. |
Thing is it seems totally fine "in game".. Of course the only games I have played thus far have been Wii Sports so maybe it is actually doing it in game but for these ones it don't affect it much..
|
Very few games even use the pointing aspect of the controller so far. Most of them are using the accelerometers to judge tilt and rotation. Wii Sports wouldn't be affected by this pointer shake.
|
Would any of the Wii Play games be affected? I have that and would like to see if games of those games would be..
Thanks |
Wii play has always worked very well for me on my TV. You should be good to go

picked up Godfather for the Wii about an hour ago. I hope my girl likes it
|
Well the world can officially end now, I found a Wii today!
Wal-mart shocked me by having 2 in the display. The guy who got it out for me couldn't believe they had any. Another girl rang it up, I paid, then the man asked if I would like someone to walk me to my car. He said they had to ask because it was one of the stores that had a near riot when the 360 was released and they have also had similiar problems with the Wii. He asked if I was putting it on Ebay to which I replied, "no I would have bought the other one as well". Hope someone else that wants one picks the other one up up! :) |
tbird,
Have you tried moving the location of the sensor to the opposite of where you have it now, ie, from on top of to in front of or right beneath the base of your tv? When you make these changes, remember to update that in the options menu as well. I recall some people having better performance with one over the other. |

Wow!
the controls for Godfather : Blackhand Edition are absolutely mint! The execution moves seem to be my favorite as of now (logged 1.3 hours last night) This has to be my favorite Wii game yet, and I used to own the original Godfather for the xbox |
How does the game look KS? Is it Gamecube quality or did EA take the time to push it beyond Xbox quality which the Wii is more than capable of?

i thought the graphics were slightly better than the original xbox game. I tried to pay extra close attension to the character creation in this game for that reason.
the crazy thing about this game is, people that suck at dual analog wielding really have no problem using the D-pad to move the camera, and the nunchuk constrol stick to move. It seems to me like EA focused mostly on nailing the controls, which I think they did. You still might feel the graphics are borderline last-gen, but honestly, I wasn't thinking about that at all. EA realizes that the controls are going to be new, and they have a pretty good tutorial worked out at the beginning of the game. For execution moves, you hold down the A button, and a little demostration will pop up on the bottom right of the screen. To break someones neck, they had me make the same motion with both controllers, as if you were breaking someones neck. Shooting people is also awesome, considering you actually use the Wiimote point to aim at different parts on the character. Think like Crackdown, only more satisfying |

my fiance MADE me purchase the xbox game, and actually wound up playing it for 15 hours. I figured she would like it even more on the Wii, and picked it up for her last night.
It's absolutely fantastic to watch other people beat the shit out of people in this game, and theres really a lot you can do. The controls are intuitive, and you really won't find yourself forgetting too many of them. I think after watching my girl beat up her first guy with a bat had to be one of the most memorable experiences I've had with video games  Her smile was worth the $50 price tag alone |
Ok.. Now I'm REALLY interested in the game. I never played any of the others, so I'd probably like it even more.
