Yeah, changing the channel won't mess up anything. Just turn the Wii off, change the channel to 1 or 11 and turn it back on.
If you've got to the store before and just can't now, the store may just be down or something. But I'd still put the router on 1 or 11 as that's what Nintendo's support will tell you to do. |

I'm not saying it'll fix your problem, but it's just what I've heard other people doing. |
I got to Circuit City about 15 minutes before opening, and I was number seven in line. They only had nine systems to go around. They handed out the vouchers, then marched us in single file toward the customer service desk.
Then the torture began. Instead of letting us all shop and then redeem our vouchers whenever we were ready, they made us wait in the line. One by one, people were ushered to a small card table where the salesperson tried to pitch all the games and accessories. Even if you had no interest in buying any accessories, you couldn't just go get your system. You had to wait for each person ahead of you to review the accessories/games table, then wait for your turn to be called to the table, then decline about ten different offers for games, accessories, and warranties, and THEN you could buy your system. Of course, since the people in front of me were apparently non-gamers (mission accomplished, Nintendo), they were gawking at the items on the table like they had never seen them before in their lives. Each person took SOOOOO long, and they were indulging the salesperson in every one of his pitches. Have you ever gone electronics shopping with your mom? Imagine that experience six times in a row. It took about 25 minutes to get to the front of the line. But on the bright side, I got a Wii! Yay! |
Just an FYI, but I would suggest checking the Clearance sections at Target.
Picked up a few games for my son: Monster Racing (with steering wheel) - $25 Chicken Little - $20 Ant Bully - $15 Torrance, CA location that had more copies of each one available for sale |
Well this is about the time last year when I got my 360 I hope to find a Wii in stock one of these days.

FINALLY!!! My persistence has paid off. After calling 20+ stores every day to try and get a Wii I got one this Sunday at Circuit City.
You had to be there an hour before opening (9:00) to get vouchers.. I got there at 8:40 and there were about 25 or so people in front of me. They had 18 Wii's. At 9 they came out and handed out the vouchers The guy in front of me got the last voucher.. I was major bummed.. I turn around to go home and some kid that was in front of me gave me his voucher and said "here.. I was just messin around".. I'm guessin he was just waiting in line with a friend who was buying one.. So I'm finally part of the Wii club! YEEE HAWW!! |

I still think it's pretty crazy that people are still waiting in line for the Wii, 5 months after launch!! I'm so glad I was able to get mine on launch day! |
I should be getting the Godfather tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think then.
I'm hoping my fiance likes it as much as the original xbox version, if not more |
tbird2340,
Thanks for the voucher story. Glad you got your Wii. I didn't find out that they were doing that until 20 minutes before they opened yesterday, so I didn't bother. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled to see if they do that again. |

I don't think it will be much longer (2-3 weeks) before the shortage is over. |

Yeah, I thought that a month ago when I managed to get mine. I have started to see more accessories in stores, though, which I think is a good sign. I stopped at a Best Buy last week and found they had many copies of Wii Play, as well as a few remotes and point cards.
I am surprised that people still have to wait in line - and that some people are still missing out. |
Anybody know if there are any reviews for the MOH game released today (I think)?

VC release for 3/26...
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire™ (Super NES, 1-8 players, 800 Wii Points): Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV is a tactical simulation game in which the player takes the role of a ruler seeking to unite China in the era of the three kingdoms of Wei, Wu and Shu. The role of the ruler is to command a range of officers with differing characteristics - some cunning strategists, others brave warriors - and strengthen the military might of his or her kingdom. Foreign policy, involving forming alliances with certain kingdoms and hatching plans to weaken others, will play a major role in this process. Once players have developed a powerful enough military, it will be time to expand their borders through military conquest. Ultimate victory will only be achieved once all 43 cities in China lie within a player's control. |

This I will have to pick up. It was this version that got me hooked on the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms. I'm almost done with my first played game for ROTK 11 for the PS2, after playing for 3 weeks. Chris |

Do you guys have any sources of light that the Wiimote's sensor can pick up besides the "sensor bar"? That thing is really just an IR emitter and the Wiimote triangulates where it is looking based on that input. If there were a 3rd or 4th IR source that it was grabbing, you might see problems like this.
Also make sure you do the quick calibration in the system menu, though I'm not sure that will help much. |
Yea, you really shouldn't have any lights behind, or really close to the sensor bar when you're playing.
Also, most games that use the pointer have something like a camera does to help keep the pointer stable |
