Has anyone played any of the other, similar games to Hotel Dusk? Phoenix Wright? Trace Memory, etc.?

Anything else that's similar that's worth checking out?

I enjoy PW much more than I did Hotel Dusk. I've just started the 3rd case in the 2nd game. It's also just plain funny at times.

Cool. I'll have to check it out. These graphic text-adventure type games are good lay-back and play games.

I was soooo close to buying a DS Lite today. Circuit City's web site said they had 'em in stock at the store near my office. I had Brain Age, Hotel Dusk and NSMB in hand but there were no systems on the shelf. They might have had some in back but no one was around to ask.

Maybe the web page isn't reporting accurate inventory.

Oh yeah, I have a $15 off of $150 coupon for CC. It says it's not valid for 'gaming consoles'. Anyone know if it would work with a DS Lite? I'd add games to get the total over $150.

Edit: Crap, I thought I was in the DS thread. Sorry.

I know the $40 off $199 coupon worked for game consoles. I do not know about the $15 off $150.

The systems are starting to filter in more and more. I just purchased my second DS Lite.

Trace Memory is by the same company that did Hotel Dusk and is pretty similar in the way it's constructed.

(The first thing I noticed upon playing Hotel Dusk was the similarities between the two, before I realized that the same company did both.)

That one follows a lot of the same conventions, in that you do a lot of puzzle mini-games, have quizzes at the end of "chapters", have multiple endings (only 2, AFAIK, but that makes it worth re-playing to get the "best" ending), etc.

It's worth picking up for $10-15, but more than that would be pushing it because, IMHO, the story isn't as strong for it as it is for Hotel Dusk.

Phoenix Wright #1 has one case that's got a lot of character development like Hotel Dusk and a lot of the same mini-game style puzzles (case #5, which is a DS exclusive). That one is certainly worth picking up for the full $30.

I picked this game up for $15 clearanced at Target, and I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I beat it, so I guess I found it interesting, but the game was so damn tedious. I don't mind reading, but let me read at my own pace. I can't stand text that takes forever to get through. Give me a big paragraph that I can zoom through. I read fast, let me. I get incredibly bored when I can't skip text.

I really felt like I forced myself to beat the game simply because I bought it. I definitely don't see myself going back ever again.

definitely not a game to replay, but definitely worth playing once. The text scrolling problem was a common complaint. It annoyed me as well.

I really need to go back to this game at some point. What little bit I played I really enjoyed.

I really enjoyed this one and hope Cing does another Adventure title. It probably wasn't as good as I thought at the time, but compared to Touch Detective it is a pretty good game. When you talk tedious you are talking Touch Detective.

12 multiple endings, really?
Sounds like the sort of game I'd enjoy
