Is this kind of like the 'Settlers' (Serf City here in the U.S.) series for the PC in the 90's? That is my favorite franchise of all time.

I am. I have always wanted to play Settlers but never had enough board gaming friends near me to necessitate buying the game. I will most likely pick up that arcade title.

Now if they would just bloody do a Live version of Cosmic Encounter. There is already an online version to play on the PC so it seems like it would be so easy to make something similar on Live.

I don't think so, but I could be way off.

Serf City/Settlers ROCKS! but is more RTS than what I understand Catan to be.

Just to clarify, here's what I'm referring to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settlers_of_catan

I dunno why the Live game is just called "Catan" and not "Settlers of Catan".

Yup, this sounds a lot like 'The Settlers' (Serf City). And it's interesting to see that 'Catan' came after the Amiga / PC game (1992 / 1993).

I hope 'Catan' doesn't look exactly like the board game, but like a real live world, based on the 'mechanics' of the game.

Blazing Angels Secret Mission on XBOX 360 and Games 4 Windows

SAN FRANCISCO — January 30, 2007 — Today Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced that Blazing Angels Secret Missions will launch on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games 4 Windows. Scheduled for a spring 2007 release, Blazing Angels Secret Missions is the follow-up to the squadron-based flight combat game Blazing Angels® Squadrons of WWII.

Blazing Angels Secret Missions shows World War II from a different perspective – that of an elite pilot who is part of a secret team. In the game, the player will undertake some of the most dangerous missions in exotic locations all over the globe. As an elite pilot, the player goes from one great adventure to another, while battling the most lethal experimental weapons of the Third Reich. The squad's mission is to prevent the ultimate weapon from being built. To help players in this quest, they have at their disposal an assortment of highly experimental aircraft and weaponry. Blazing Angels® Secret Missions comes straight out of the history books of World War II's most top secret projects.

Key features of Blazing Angels Secret Missions include:

Living, Breathing World – Built on all-new, cutting-edge visual technology, the world of Secret Missions is more believable and involving than ever. Fly above hills and mountains, navigate through treacherous mountain passes and dogfight in the clouds with enemies. Take part in large-scale battles through various conditions: darkness, rain, snow, and air turbulence.

Diverse and Unusual Scenarios – Secret Missions takes players around the world, from Paris, Rome and Moscow to exotic locations like Rangoon and Cairo and the highest mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Each mission will bring its own surprises, twists and unique challenges.

Prototype Technology – Players will have access to some of the most advanced and unusual aircraft and weapons of WWII, as well as access to a huge assortment of weapons, including high-velocity cannons and early guided missiles.

Fast Paced Multiplayer Action – Multiplayer features free-for-all, co-op and squad-based play, including the brand new Capture the Flag and Epic Battle modes, the latter pitting two teams of players against each other in a large-scale battle with conquerable bases and objectives that can be destroyed in order to gain the upper hand on the opponent.

For more information about Blazing Angels® Secret Missions, please visit http://www.ubi.com.

I don't see where anyone says they can stream HD movies. They say they think they were able to.
You need to reread my posts, in that case. I was able to stream 720p content when it got around to 70 percent. It took hours to get there tho', but still, I was able to stream it from then on.

A while back (like around October or Christmas even) they had some video on the marketplace of upcoming Arcade games and Settlers of Catan was pictured. It will look like the board game.

I also have been asking and asking about a version Cosmic Encounter. Tonight i emailed the place where you can play it online and got a response that they have a proposal in to Microsoft. If any of you are fans of the game keep your fingers crossed it all works out well.

Wow, from the looks of it, this could make for several XBL purchases for me. I've only bought one XBL game to date, but I'm very interested in many of the 10 upcoming games.

About the site
Video Game Talk was started in 1853 by four Irish coal mining brothers who immigrated to Pennsylvania to escape Ireland's Potato Famine of 1845-1849. Seeking to make a life for their children, they followed their dream of starting up a video game review website. Unfortunately, neither video games nor the Web existed at the time, and so they sold the business and became boxers. One of the founders, a Mr. Tom "Ginger Fury" O'Mahony, actually went on to achieve relative success in his new career.

Video Game Talk passed through a number of hands throughout the next century and a half until it finally ended up in the hands of Geoffrey Kleinman of Kleinman.com, Inc. in 2002. Mr. Kleinman fulfilled the original wishes of the brothers by registering the domain name ("VideoGameTalk.com") and employing reviewers, something no other owner had thought to do.

Whatever happened to that Hoopsworld XBLA game? I remember hearing about it, and seeing images as early as last spring...but never heard anything about a release.

I rarely do online gaming with anyone I'm not friends with, but I'm also in for online Catan with anyone on here once it's out. I've only played it a handful of times, but it's a lot of fun.

Cool. I'm down for more Zuma/Magnetica type action anytime. I just downloaded Myth Match from Yahoo! a week or so ago. Very similar. Fun too.
