Welp. Finally got my rewards. Scored Fuzion Frenzy and the rest. Woo!

Just saw this on Major Nelson's site:
"This statement just in from the Marketing team: Thank you for the incredible response to Xbox Rewards. The gaming community's interest has temporarily overloaded our servers and caused delays for those trying to register. To help ensure everyone who wants to participate has the opportunity, the Old Spice Experience Challenge will be extended by three days. Now you have until April 15th 2007 to increase your Gamerscore by 1,500. As a bonus, we are adding more rewards for this challenge, which means more gamers who successfully complete the challenge will get rewarded. Our development team is hard at work to fix the problem. We expect the web site will be ready in 48 hours, please be patient and check back periodically." |
I wonder if they mean larger quantities of the awards, or different awards?
|
Well it looks like I finally got through, at least to the little green window that said "Congratulations! It looks like you won this challenge.". Of course I couldn't get the 'show my rewards' button to work, but "I'm finished" is no longer hi-lighted on the challenge detail page.
What really made them think it would take two months for 70,000 to complete the challenge? I mean I'm at the low end -level 1 and actually doubled my gamerscore in 24 hours (900 from Madden 06 (6 hours), 1000 from NBA 2K6 (1 hour), and 100 from King Kong in about 30 minutes which I paused to come complete the challenge). |
Is anyone else having trouble with the site now? I got through last night and was able to click on 'finished challenge' or whatever... but now when I try and log in it keeps taking me to the link to submit my address information.
|
I can't even get on the damn registration page...
|
I think I was added to the challenge. When I tried to sign up a second time, it wouldn't let me select Join Challenge.
I picked up 300 points last night in King Kong. I should be able to finish the rest tonight hopefully to get all 1000 points. Then between Lost Planet that I rented and some other games I have sitting around that still have points to offer up, I should hit 1500 easily. I decided against the old sports titles incase they tried something sneaky and disqualified them because of the ease those old games handed out the gamer points. |

I'm at my rewards page, and it tells me to confirm my address for the shirt and Fusion Frenzy rewards, but the "Confirm" button just brings me to a page that displays my registration info. I click the submit button on that page and it says it's successful, but the Confirm button is still active on the rewards page. I guess it doesn't matter since they apparently aren't sending the rewards for another 2 months, but I hope they can get their act together soon and fix the site. |
I've been hitting the Burger King games. should be easy ways to some points. I think I still need like 1000.

Right, I can see that page but there is no "confirm" button anywhere. It just lists my prizes:

Yeah, last night (when I could actually get the webpage to load), there were green "Confirm" buttons next to the t-shirt and Fusion Frenzy. The text to the left said something like "Confirm your address before we mail your reward." As mentioned in the post above, it didn't really do anything, so I guess they're just asking you to look at your info and make sure that you entered your address correctly when you registered. Once the site is functional again, I guess we'll be able to better figure out what's going on.

Okay. Thanks gramps.

Can we open a new thread for the achievement points contest? I really have no interest in the contest and this thread has been overtaken by the discussion.

According to Joystiq - Ikaruga looks to be making it's way to the XBLA! I've got a call out to my arcade contact hopefully he'll give me some more details on it.

MS needs to quit announcing and start releasing. We don't need a 9 month lead time on a game that is coming. Just release them as they are ready with a solid week-to-month announcement. |
Oh man, I love Ikaruga to no end.
