Official MS Achievement Point Contest

Contest 1: The Old Spice Challenge

Contest Rules: Xbox.com

How the contest works

Revised Rules:
Thank you for the incredible response to Xbox Rewards. The gaming community's interest has temporarily overloaded our servers and caused delays for those trying to register.

As a bonus, we are adding more rewards for this challenge, which means more gamers who successfully complete the challenge will get rewarded.

Our development team is hard at work to fix the problem. We expect the web site will be ready in 48 hours, please be patient and check back periodically.
Prizes:
* Level 1 (Gamers who have an annual gamerscore between 0-4,999 at time of entry): Game Picture, Dashboard theme, Contra for Xbox LIVE Arcade

Sports titles, specifically 2K6 titles. I managed 2000 in two hours with College Hoops 2K6 and NBA 2K6. Played exactly one game of each(set on full quarters/halves).

You will probably have to call around to find them at a video store though. Most won't have them anymore. I called 8 before I found one that had one.

I thought I saw UngleGramps up near the top as well. I don't know if he completed the challenge yet though.

Yep, I completed the challenge at Level 3 thanks to Madden 06 and NBA Live 06. I simmed my way through most of it and it only took a few hours, and I returned both games to Blockbuster today.

I used Madden 06 following this post in just about 6 hours total (only got 900 points played 4 games never could get the 4 sacks achievement). The rest came from NBA 2K6, I played one game and got all 1000 in about a hour.

OK, I've rented Cars. Going to try and split the last 1375 I need between Cars & The Godfather this weekend. Any tips from those who have gotten those achievements?

In Cars, you have to get the achievements through Story Mode (Full Size). You *can* get achievements using cheat codes, and if you're ony interested in banging out points, I'd recommend using a couple of them.

IMSPEED - Fast Start (this gives you a couple second head start)
VROOOM - Unlimited Boost (once you get boost in the story)

I got 850 in about 3-4 hours. I didn't do the Sheriff one because it was giving me problems, and then the Postcard one (find 20 easter eggs, basically) because I didn't feel like looking for them all.

I'm still laughing at myself for joining this contest but I didn't want to get left out. It takes me forever to earn points.

I signed up, but I doubt I'll come close to 1500 points. Even if I do, I'm sure the rewards will be gone by then. I don't plan to change my gaming habits for this promotion.

I should say, I *think* I signed up. I completed an online form which says I'm signed up, but when I go to xbox.com/rewards, I just get the form again.

What's the URL for tracking your progress?

my advice to all: rent NHL 2K6 - adjust the sliders appropriately and you should be able to get 1000 points in less than 10 minutes. The only points that are even slightly challenging is "score on a penalty shot on All-Star Level". Just use this guide:

Yeah, I tried getting this one, but Blockbuster didn't carry it.

Looks like the site is working much better today. The layout of the prize pages if functioning a lot better.

- They added dates to the Digital prize winners (4/12, last day of contest).
- The confirm button is finally working on your specific prize page

I am almost finished with my points. I got 1000 in King Kong and got 20 in Lost Planet.

I'll probably work through GRAW on hardcore to get those points. And starting on Gears on Insane today as well.

But even after you hit the "Submit" button after confirming your address, the Confirm button still shows up on that prize page, right? They don't really explain the procedure for claiming your prizes. The fact that there are still "first come first served" warnings on each of the prize pages even though you've supposedly won them already makes me a little worried. Plus the fact that the green bars on the challenge page indicating how many prizes are left are all still stuck on 100%. I hope they're not stupid enough to throw open the gates to all of the winners on 4/15, forcing us to click a "claim prize" button for each reward or something.

Browsing MyGamerCard.net, looks like 462 have finished. Almost a fifth of the [original 2,500] level 3 prizes accounted for. There's still a long way to go for all the prizes. I thought for sure they would go quicker.

Looking at all the winners is still looks like only a dozen to twenty or so people are in level 1 & 2. Looks like those prizes will last the duration of the contest.

If you are out there Flay, who exactly told you that as long as we got that registration part complete that we would be for sure in the contest(you had mentioned this in the main 360 thread when we were all discussing the contest and the site was having the issues). It appears that you definitely have to press the JOIN CHALLENGE button for your points to count or is there a contact we can send to someone at Microsoft to have points updated as of registartion time because it has only counted the amount of points I have since finally being able to press the join challenge button yesterday. So instead of having the 1500 points I need it say I only have gotten 285 points so far.
