If the PS3 tech is really so much better than the 360, then why was there no launch game that was above what the 360 can do? Even the best PS3 game, MGS4, is not noticeably better than what the 360 can do.
As for MGS4, it's not even close to Gears graphically. Have you seen the gameplay screens and footage? It does not look as good as those trailers Konami kept releasing. Case in point!

Now, we'll see how it looks when it's finished.
Michael is right. The so-called generation argument doesn't hold in Sony's favor. The system was delayed twice by a year. As he said, all of those launch games and other games had an extra year of development. Gears is also not a second generation game. It was Epic's first go at the system. That has as much to do with generation as when the game is released.
basically, what it is saying that, instead of more people going out and buying more systems, the people that already own the system are just buying more games.

They are already at 6 million sold. That was as of last month or so. They'll likely sell a few million for Christmas since it's available. So, they'll hit 10 million sometime in the 1st half of next year.

The video market place is awesome, I love the layout, the backgrounds changing. I love how they have full seasons of these shows. Fantastic. but I wish the prices were alittle cheaper, I wish the could of done the tv shows cheaper, or even free but maybe make you watch acouple advertisments. I wouldnt care if it was free.

The company has projected it will sell 10 million consoles by 2007. By the end of September, Microsoft said it sold 6 million worldwide, which means it must sell 4 million in the last three months of the year.

According to this website the 360 has sold 7.3 million.
I don't know where they get their numbers, but the PS3 sales (88,000 in Japan, 175-200,000 in NA) seem about right, as well as the Wii totals

information.

Edited to add: And while they are at it, they should include the DS & PSP.

And I'm pretty sure that Microsoft isn't too worried about those sales figures for the XBox 360. They will probably wait until early next year to lower the price of the 360, now that they are supposedly making $75 per unit sold.
I don't think they will reach 10 million by the end of 2006, but probably the early months of 2007.

Even a $20 price drop might help convince holiday shoppers (who can't find a PS3) to make the 360 plunge.
Of course, MS better make an announcement NOW if they want to take advantage of the Christmas shopping season.

So with this new feature on the Marketplace of d/l movies and TV shows, do you actually d/l them to your hard drive or is it streamed? If it's streamed, can you only watch it once? Can you fast forward, rewind, etc?

I think what he is saying is that you can watch it for the first 24 hours and if you don't, then it expires after 2 weeks.
