I almost imported the PW sequel, but I'm hoping Capcom offers a preorder bonus like they did with the first game.

IGN.com just reviewed 'Elite Beat Agent's' and gave the game a 9.5!

http://ds.ign.com/articles/743/743324p1.html

I can't wait to pick this up!

After seeing the commercial, I thought EBA looked horrible(mostly because they didn't explain what exactly the game was about), but IGN gave it a 9.5, and I'm a sucker for rhythm games, so, I might give this a try.

So, um, is Children of Mana worth buying (btw, I loved Secret of Mana, and liked Sword of Mana) - does Children even have a story at all or is it a straight dungeon-crawler?

I'll try to get some Children of Mana time in this week.. I'm REALLY, REALLY enjoying Summon Night 2 on the GBA at the moment though.. and since I'm playing Tales of the Abyss on the PS2 when I'm at home.. I don't want to have three adventures going at once.

I know this is a DS thread, but could you tell me more about Summon Night? Gameplay/fighting/story/characters/graphics...?

The GBA series (Swordcraft Story) is basically a Tales rip-off, featuring a side-scrolling action battle system. They're very fun.

I feel pretty stupid asking this but, what is everyone doing to protect the touch screen from getting really scratched up? Are the 'screen protectors' all just basically a sticker that covers the screen, if so, do they work, are they removable, etc?

Thanks in advance.

I roll without personally.. the screen protector removes all the feeling.. er, wait, that's not right.

If you're an adult and keep the screen clean before stylus use and don't DIG into the screen with the stylus, you should be fine. For kids I'd probably suggest putting a screen protector on.. and yes, it's essentially a (removable) sticker that covers the screen.

Me, I'm using an upgraded Stylus from PDA Panache. I never liked putting stickers on the screen making everything look foggy.

Same here. I've heard the Hori brand screen protectors are good, but since lik-sang.com went down, not sure where you can get them. Play-asia.com maybe? (Can't find it there, but estarland.com has it. Can't vouch for their service though as I've never used them.)
I've had my lite since June, tried a Pelican protector, and couldn't get it on right so I just gave up. But the screens look decent, and I bet with extra care they would have looked great. Get a soft cloth though to remove fingerprints or dirt/dust.

My first DS (fatty) got really scratched up after a few months of Nintendogs... you need to be careful to clean your stylus as well.

I picked up the Hori screen protectors, they really are much better than the Pelican/datec/cheapo ones. They are available domestically, I found mine at Fry's (and no, they weren't an import). I highly recommend them. Also, you can pretty much cut-to-size a good PDA one, which is probably cheaper.

Any good cases? I like the Nintendo zippered ones, if they didn't have those cheap looking plastic holders in them.

I have a case I got from lik-sang, it's pretty nice. Says Project Design on the zipper, so that might be what it is. But my friend has a case he got at Gamecrazy for $10 and it is SWEET. A little big maybe, but holds like 10 games, the ds lite, ac adapter, everything.

These look impressive. There was another company selling pretty much the same thing but covered the inside bottom istead of the top. Anyone know what site that is? Surely I'm not the only one who saw it.

I read a review comparing the two a while back linked off one of these gaming sites. I have no idea where though. Maybe someone can come through.

Looks like that would protect the public face of your DSL from fingerprints as well.

That does look impressive. My problem is that, while I clean it on a regular basis, my wife and young son may not. We put one of the screen protector stickers on our son's SP and either we applied it poorly, or it was just crap because it left bubbles, etc.

these come with a liquid spray to help you slide them in place and it also helps get the bubbles out.

I'm not endorsing though, I've never tried them. The price is holding me back. I would love one for my DS and iPod but that would set me back $50.

I beat this game today, but I need to go back and finish World 4 and unlock World 7.

IMHO, the end boss was cake.

Yeah, the boss battles are pretty easy. The challenge is getting all the coins. That is were I really got my moneys worth out of this one.

NSMB easter egg I found out about...

Spoiler:
After beating the game, pause on any world map and press L, R, L, R, X, X, Y, and Y to enter challenge mode. Basically it disables scrolling back/left when in a level (like in the original SMB).

I just got Tetris and Starfox Command in from TRU B2G1. Tetris is as great as everyone said it was. Starfox is not bad, reminds me a lot of the SNES one with strategy involved.

What are the hits for the end of the year? On my list:
- Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
- Yoshi's Island 2
- Elite Beat Agents
- Final Fantasy III

Anything else?

I'm about halfway through COM. It's ok, but it's pretty much what you think - a dungeon crawler with minimal story. Basically, go to dungeon and defeat all enemies then defeat the boss - repeat as necessary. The graphics are wonderful and the music is pretty good, but all the hack & slash gets very repetitive. It's a good game, but once Final Fantasy III comes out I probably will never play it again.
