They should have. It's also a kick in the balls to users who would like to buy their stuff digitally, which can be done on any PSP.

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3

So if I want to upgrade my PSP-1000 to a PSP-3000, or even a PSP-2000, what's the best deal right now?

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3

So I finally beat Half-Minute Hero.. I had mostly been playing a few rounds of whatever current game I was on per night before I went to bed, which is why it took so long. My game clock was around eight hours (not counting occasional reloads). I still have all of the optional levels of Hero 30 to do and maybe try for high scores in certain areas.

I loved the game. Obviously they know that Hero 30 is the main attraction (and I'll get into that in a second with some spoilers if you're still playing the game) but the other games are alright too. I'd probably order them after that as Knight 30, Princess 30 and then Evil Lord 30. Princess and Evil Lord both tend to fluctuate from really shining to feeling too chaotic whereas Knight was pretty solid for its entire run.

I hope they do a sequel with twice the content.

Now a little bit of spoiler time.

Spoiler:
So once you beat the four main games you unlock Hero 300, which is a one shot "last battle" game. There are no Goddess Statues, so the entire thing has to be completed in one clip, though there are also four checkpoints that you have to pass before each sixty second tick. I also found an optional boss here that I couldn't beat (and that essentially screwed me up from beating it the first time I got that far). I'll go back and tackle him at some point.
BUT IT GETS BETTER.

Spoiler:
Once you beat THAT you unlock Hero 3. No, that's not a typo.

Spoiler:

Shows how much you know.

Certain publishers are not happy with Sony's costs to be digital. That's all I can say.

Sell your 1000 on eBay/Amazon and grab a 3000.

Walmart tends to clearance their psp-3000s out at $139. It was first the Rock Band bundle and then the Hannah Montana bundle. If you can find either of those, they're $139. Amazon originally matched the HM one, but it's now sold out.

I don't think that I would buy any used portable game system from GS... not unless it was in pristine condition. The ones that I've seen looked like they were dragged behind quad that was off-roading.

Just because... here's a few pics of my Go with a newly applied DecalGirl (dark burlwood) skin. I like my gadgets to look like vintage cheesy 70's electronics.

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3

I finished Assassin's Creed Bloodlines and can really recommend it. Specially if you are a fan of the series. It's not a long game, 5-10 hours depending on how much you want to do.

I also read the free Aleister Arcane comic and had to get the other two to complete the series. Too bad that the first one was the best of the series but at $2 each I had to finish the story. I'm actually not a big comic reader, but I think this is a great application, and I really love the interface.

Next for me in the PSP is LBP, I saw that they already have 4 add-ons in the PSN store, 2 free and 2 premium so it should last a little bit.

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3

So Thursday night I caved and picked up a GO from Gamestop. One of the stores had a black one in great condition for $150. With the trade 7 games get an extra $50 promotion, I had enough to cover the system, tax, and a warranty.

I have to say i'm impressed. At first my hands didnt know what to do with the new layout, but after a few rounds of Guilty Gear I got the the hang of it.

Ive had every version of the PSP and the GO is pretty good. I got tried of having to decide what game I wanted to play later in the day, so having them all on the hard drive is great.

$250 was too much, but $150 and then free after trade ins was just right.

I also picked up a used black Go from GameStop back when they dropped to $150. Haven't put that much on there yet Pinball Heroes (4 pack), Everyday Shooter, a couple of the free comics, and the District 9 PSP copy from the blu-ray.

That looks cool. Is that a remake or a direct port of a PSOne game?

Um, no.

It's a port of a 2005 PC game that itself was a remake of a game that came out on like EVERY system (Wanderers from Ys).

So I picked up After Burner off PSN for the PSP last week. Yeah, it stutters constantly and you can't even finish the first level because you fly into some eternal void. It's been since pulled from PSN until they fix it. Sigh...

Is this that new After Burner game that's coming to XBLA and PSN or a PSP version previously available on UMD?

The latter. At least they're fixing it.

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3

So I was just playing my Go, and wanted to switch games. Hit the home button, end game, and now it is stuck on 'please wait' I slid it shut (which I have set to sleep mode) and nothing. Hold down the off switch and nothing. Guess I will wait for the battery to go dead, and hope for the best.
