Guess they have to remake it again because of the screen issues or will it be a cheap PSP with no UMD drive? I'm betting on a cheap no UMD model.

Okay, I just got a PSP-2000 in a trade for a broken iPhone.
I need to know what exclusive PSP games are a must have. |

I don't see them killing UMD quite yet.
I see 4000 just fixing the screen problem of 3000. And now I wonder what to do with my 2000 that I barely play... |

Is that real??

no f'n way....

I agree. Can't believe that this late into the system's life they would add a second analog stick. With almost no game development going on anymore for the system, it's a little too late. That is one pretty mock-up though.

That pic has been around for quite a while

We can still dream, right?

*sniff*

maybe for the PSP2.
2011: A portable system with PS3 graphics. ;) |
You had me at dual-analog sticks.

They are shifting the games to online already and PSP game sales on UMD are terrible despite the good hardware sales. I can definitely see Sony drop the UMD slot and do a memory card only PSP for $99. If most users aren't using the UMD slot why not offer a cheaper model without it. You will still have the more expensive 3000 model for people that want UMD. That way you can transition everyone to the memory card only PSP2.

I agree. There are still a lot of people without an internet connection. Unbelievable but true.
|
or people who have internet connections and still can't play or download games. :( I have the verizon wireless card. :(

No reason not to have a separate model. Call it "the Internet PSP". Slimmer, cheaper than a DS, takes less power. Win win.

I went ahead and imported LocoRocco 2, since it got a European release but not even a date announcement for the U.S. The first one was what got me to buy a PSP in the first place.

Let me know what you think of it. Is it any different/better than the original? I had a feeling it would be like Katamari, where everyone went nuts over the charming original, then the magic wore off with the all-too-similar and less unique sequels.

Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3
So I just finished God of War I and II. Now I'm dying to play CoO. Any suggestions on what I should get?
1. PSP-2000 ($170) and GoW:CoO ($37) - Amazon 2. PSP-3000 R&C Bundle ($200) and GoW:CoO ($37) - Amazon 3. PSP-3000(?) and GoW:CoO Exclusive Bundle ($207+s/h, tax) - Costco 4. Used PSP-2000 GoW:CoO Bundle or Any used PSP + GoW:CoO - Craigslist, ebay, Amazon Marketplace The benefit of the Costco option is that once I finish GoW, if I decide I don't want the PSP anymore, I can just return it for a full refund. Thanks! |
Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3
I don't think I've touched my PSP since God of War came out. The game release schedule for the PSP has been fucking barren for nearly a year.
That said, the back catalog has a lot of great games and some hidden gems. I'd go with the Costco option as the PSP's future (at least gamewise) seems pretty bleak to me. |
Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3
That's what I'm thinking is going to happen with me. I love the concept of how well the PSP integrates with the PS3, but in reality, it would probably not get used too often. I just don't spend much time with games these days.
