Can't wait. Finally got back into WoW after a long lull. Had a 66 Orc Shaman sitting around and I finally leveled him up to 70 over the past week

So did anyone see the invasion events going on in Stormwind/Orgrimmar? I would've loved to, if the servers hadn't been down for 15 fucking hours yesterday! Hope it's still going on today.

Lining up

I'm walking into Best Buy on Friday night and grabbing a copy for my bro-in-law. I never understood the whole wait outside for a day to get the game a few hours before anyone else.

So how is it? My bro-in-law actually picked up two copies today, and was like "Dude, you're playing this weekend, I bought you a copy."

I feel like Al Pacino. Everytime I try to get out, they pull me back in.

Just got to play for about an hour. Took almost an hour just to get on - frickin' queues.

New area seems cool enough. They must have lowered the XP requirement to level to 70, because I only need like 717000 to level to 70, and I did it fast since I was rested. It's something like 1.5 million XP to get to 71. And of course I already saw a 71 running around - I'm guessing that was a midnight purchaser.

One thing I'm kind of miffed about is the flying mounts don't work right away in Northrend. This appears to be by design. Last thing I read suggested you might not be able to fly on your mount until 78, as they want you to actually see the area you're questing in rather than just flying over them. Bah.

Did get my Grand Master alchemy and herbalism training started - now has a 450 cap.

I do appreciate this on one level as it really is a joy for me to explore the lands they create - something that does not happen when flying. However, it will certainly be hard to adjust to not only slowing down to ground mount speed, but also having to use the winding flight paths again.

My copy doesn't arrive until Monday.

There was a 74 on our server last night at approximately 7pm eastern time.

I didn't experience the queues last night, but a couple guildies did.

I'm not looking forward to playing again, but my bro-in-law is excited for my return.

I think I am going to severely limit my play time. I have to much to do.

Kid that took a few days off school or someone that took time off work. Insane to already be 74.

don't believe all that is said in /2. In fact, don't believe any of it. Leveling from 70 to 80 can be done in under 30 hours of time played. It is entirely possible they did it withing 72 hours of the game release

I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far. Went to Gamestop around 11pm Wednesday night and was home by 12:15. About 3/4's of the way to 74 now. Everything seems new and fresh. The zones are great, the quests are (mostly) awesome. I've run 4 instances and they were all pretty damn sweet. All in all, couldn't be more happy with the expansion.

Has anyone done the Wrathgate event/questline yet?
Spoiler:

Fucking best Warcraft cinematic ever! Saurfang Jr and Bolvar Fordragon getting owned by Arthas was pretty crazy. And the Forsaken rebelling and trying to destroy everyone. Crazy!

Also, this leads into the Attack on the Undercity questline, which is pretty epic too. Apparently, once you complete that, Varimathras is no longer in the Undercity when you go there. Which makes sense, since you kill him. Never trusted that fucker.

You can watch that cutscene again if you want. Just get VLC player, and open the video file in

world of warcraft/data/en-us/interface/cinematics

great video.

You got me you stinking bastards. I tried to fight you but resistance was futile. I hoped and prayed this game would die before it got its cold dead hands on me. My god why couldn't I be stronger.

You can also talk to the big dragon at the Wrathgate and he'll show it to you again.

It's a scene that plays at the end of a long quest chain all over the Dragonblight. But yes, that's the location.

I hit 80 on my druid tank on Wednesday....6 days after the expansion came out. I did every quest available in all of the zones as I leveled up. The only zone I haven't started yet is Icecrown and thats this weekend. Just waiting for guildies to catch up.

In blues on my tank I'm running 29K health buffed up and I did a pug heroic Lightning Halls..it was a pain...but to be able to do a difficult heroic this quick after the xpac is a bit sickening.

Its seemingly more of a game of dailies surrounded by the occasional instance and raid.

Cooking dailies in Dalaran are bottlenecked by Northern Spices...so you almost have to do that one everyday....ugh.

I love this game...but its wearing on me in that its becoming so repetitive that its almost not fun at times. I love seeing and experiencing new content....Icecrown is gorgeous (artwork)...but the ongoing repitition is going to get old fast.

I was never a big fan of dailies...but Blizzard realized that this will keep people playing.

I've seen and done the cut scenes in Dragonblight and Undercity...very cool by the way.

This is the reason I left after I hit 70. What's there to do besides dailies and raiding? Nothing.

I used to enjoy doing BG's but if you're not twinked out, you're gonna get your ass kicked and now you can't even get epic sets for BG's. So, if you want a nice epic set for PvP you gotta do Arenas which I hate. The game is pretty much forcing you to do Arenas if you want to get a decent PvP set for doing BG's and World PvP.

So, I'll most likely play to 80 in Lich King and do all the new content and then quit again. It's a fun game but when you've done something once it gets old super fast.
