I love it.
I'm playing last night and see some scores scrolling beneath the screen. I figure it's just part of the display, but upon closer examination I realize it was THAT DAY'S baseball scores, hot of the presses. I'm sorry but that it just TOO cool...
I wonder if Koren Robinson will disappear from my Vikings roster after the fallout from his drunk driving/trying to outrun the cops thing?....

I finally got a chance to play the game, and my impressions (360 version): Fun game, however, I think NCAA 07 controls a little more fluidly. They REALLY need to fix the fatigue issue SOON. I don't really have any gripes yet besides that. Graphics are nice, gameplay is smooth. I'm already accustomed since I played NCAA 07 for 3 seasons at least. I'm not going to start my NFL franchise yet, as the rosters seem dreadful. I either need to add some players to the Lions or just wait for a roster update.

How are the stats in Franchise Mode for Simed games? Have the finally fixed this problem? I usually sim more than I play, but I always hate the pitiful stats they give to my team for those simed games.

So, when will we get a GOOD roster update....do they usually update at the beginning of the NFL season? I sure hope so. Maybe I'll play NCAA until they do. Then I can sell that off.
Also, the menus seem confusing to me. I could not get back to the main screen from the SAVE screen. Three of the options were grayed out...so I had to save. The LS button would not do a quick-save also. Besides the small quirks, the game is good.

I agree that the menus are very confusing. A few times I got the greyed out selections too, and I have no idea why. They seem to have three separate menus (main, media, and online?). I also found it extremely difficult to know how to do a quick save... I guess I'm used to NCAA, where you just click the left thumbstick.
Do the Xbox and PS2 versions still have all the little presentation features, like featured players, after-game interactions, etc.? I know they're not that important, but I miss that more than I thought I would (along with the refs, the chains, and even the stupid FG net).

Well, I bought the 360 version on release day, and I played through Superstar mode a few times. I am not happy. For one, why can't I control my team in superstar mode? Do I have to sit and wait while my shitty defense tries to get the ball back and hope the QB throws it to me (or even calls a pass play instead of 4 straight runs)?
The framerate is choppy, the menus confusing, no alternate uniforms, the radio thing sucks ass, and I get the same emails over and over (be sure and say hi to those Tiberon folks, they're good people!)
Needless to say, I am getting rid of it. If anyone wants to take it off my hands, send me an email. Otherwise I'm trading it in or putting it on eBay. I had high hopes for this game, too. It's too bad.

The thing that bothers me the most is that there are frequent little "freezes" when going to or from a close up animation. The gameplay is smooth, but after selecting a play or when going to an automatic replay, there is a pause, that while slight, is extremely annoying.

Okay...I finally picked this game up today. I cannot seem to figure out a way to scramble with the QB.
Is that even possible in this new version?
It seems that there is no way to tuck the ball in and run, unless you are beyond the line of scrimmage. I did not buy the game last year, so I do not know if it was included or not in that game.
WTF! How can a player like Vick, V.Young, or even Plummer be as valuable without scrambling?
Am I just retarded and computer illiterate?

Ok, I've had this for almost a week now for the 360, and here are some impressions.
I love making my superstar in superstar mode, but I HATE playing with them. The "influence" meter makes absolutely no sense, why do plays that have nothing to do with me (or even worse, I did my job perfectly but the pass was incomplete or whatever), give me a negative influence score?? And like a post above said, the fact that you cannot play on the other side of the ball from your superstar is idiotic. The timing is also WAY off. For instance, I was playing with my created HB, so the CPU played defense. The game speed is faster, but there is ZERO time taken between snaps. So if the other side runs the ball for 3 yards and the play is over with 3:00 left in the quarter, the next play starts at 2:59. The games take freaking forever, and I'm officially done with this mode.
The franchise is ok, but without the fantasy draft, it's extremely dry. The trade difficulty has been jacked up, which I like a lot, but it's incredibly difficult to make any maneuvers at all. I still play this every now and then, but I've got to say that there's no overwhelming factor making me want to continue, just a passing interest when I feel like killing 45 min or so.
But the gameplay is tremendous, so all I'm focusing on now is playing with friends on XBox Live. The server connection is far superior to last year's version, I have no idea why, but I've had far less drops and stuttering.
But to be honest, it's just not that interesting. I'm continuing to play Dead Rising over and over rather than Madden at this point.
