B button highlights one receiver at a time. When on the receiver to change, hit Y, then a bunch of hot route options pop up to be selected.

You can choose more than one hot route receiver now too, which I don't think you could do last year.

Good deal, thanks. That should help when I need a deep route, finally.

Watch the safety coverage, especially in cover 1. I like to isolate Smith to the weak side and if the FS slides over, I throw it long.

I have never bought a Madden game in 20+ years of gaming. When I played it, it was a roommate or friend's copy.

That said, I'm planning on buying a Wii at launch, and the more I see on Madden 07 the more I'm interested.

This video looks pretty sweet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaiVAKhzms8

Ugh... Madden Gamer Level 19 and still no Ditka... THAT'S ALL I WANT TO START MY NEW FRANCHISE. And Barry Sanders is flat out unstoppable, I'm starting to like these new HOF additions.

I HATE the HOFers. Just makes things a bit unrealistic....but I guess it can be interesting for non-sim players. Maybe next franchise I will....make things challenging.

I'm looking for a list of HOF'ers, no luck thus far.

Just bought this and I'm playing in Franchise mode.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see:

1. Owner's Box
2. Substitutions. Any way to sub players into different spots in different formations. Ex- I use the Jets and like to line up Coles in the slot sometimes and wide other times. Changing his spot in the depth chart will only move him permanently in all formations. No Substitutions sucks.
3. Defensive Assignments. No way to stick Vilma on the other team's RB?
4. Where the hell do you go to change quarter length?

I'm so lost and without these features from '06 I'm really at the point where Madden is going on the shelf.

If anyone knows where any of this stuff is (if it's even there) please let me know. Thanks.

Did you not read the manual? Not only is every single one of these features here, but they are all in the same place they were in 2006.

Specify system, I think some are missing in the 360 version....although, I could be wrong.

If we're talking about 360, I'll see what I can remember off hand. There is no owners box on 360 as far as I know, I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the 360 franchise was planned to be very bare bones (I'm EXTREMELY pissed that included no fantasy drafting teams). There are substitutions at the formation screen, so when you're selecting an I-formation for example, you can swing the HB out as a receiver or substitute your 3DRB (I think) by pressing the right bumper. I just found this a few weeks ago, and it's very helpful, especially in shotgun if your RB is a good receiver. Don't know about the defensive matchups, I usually play as MLB and stick myself on the RB. I remember trying to change quarter length and it wouldn't let me, the only thing I can think of is changing the profile gameplay settings to a different length and then starting the franchise over. I'm starting a new one today, so I'll see if that works when I get home. I'd rather go with 4 minute quarters instead of 5, I just don't have time for 45+ minute games, although I do like the semi-realistic stats that they provide.

Yes I am playing on the 360, sorry I didn't specify, but thanks for the help.

As far as those "substitutions" at the formations screen, they were always there and they're helpful, but in previous PS2 versions there was a "substitutions" screen under "coaching" where you could cycle through each formation available to you in your Off. and Def. schemes and manually put guys in different spots and they would remain in that spot every time you picked that formation. For instance, I always lined up my WR1 in the slot in "Singleback Normal". It was an easy way to put your speed reciever in the spot that has the most deep routes as well. I've been through every screen and I can't seem to find it.

The "defensive matchups" screen was under the in-game "coaching" screen and was hot because you could also shadow their WR1 with your CB1 no matter where he lined up on the field and so on.

I utilized these features all the time and with them missing I'm really having a hard time warming up to the game in 1 player mode. The graphics are great and the in game play is on point but I can't imagine why they would strip down these features on such a bigger, better system as the 360.

On the 360??? My manual didn't mention any of these things.

Besides, since when does a Madden manual give helpful information? They've always been like 5 pages long with 3 pages dedicated to what buttons do what.

If you're talking 360 please help me find this stuff. If not then my bad for not specifying the format.

(I forgot to comment on that myself) ^^^^ I thought it was hilarious. Obviously a parody, but I've often wondered what some of these low rated football players on these games think when they get their 'virtual' ratings from a game.
