I'm so in over my head with this game. It's like you guys are speaking a totally foreign language. Last night Doug is going on about getting on boats and high lows.

Fun games last night in Poker. Sorry I didn't accept your invite L&O. I was having some fun with the new Halo playlist.

I like that you can get 8 people in the holdem game. Much better then 4 in Uno.
The music does suck though. Its like the same 5 notes.

But, I had my laptop on playing songs in iTunes.

I don't either.

I joined a room with a couple of friends just to try out a hand or two. Folded the first hand and took in $15,000 the second with an Ace high straight. Then I called it quits. Doesn't sound like much but when everyone only starts with $10,000 and there was only 5 people playing, I think it was quite a bit. Take the money and run.

I asked them first. Stated up front I just wanted to play a hand or two to try out the game, but couldn't stay on. They said that was fine...probably expecting to take my money.

Oh, well if you announced your intention to leave soon, then you're well within your rights.

What happens when you run out of money in Poker?

Also, they announced Settlers of motherfucking Catan. How cool is that?

while people who rely on actually playing the game will advance to higher stakes.
Does anyone know if Microsoft is planning any real prizes for winning tournaments? I could see where, once the newness wears off, people will start playing like jackasses because, by and large, virtual money means nothing if you just don't care about your ranking. Once Texas Holdem loses it's mystique, there will be an onslaught of people going "all in" nearly every hand like you have at Party Poker.net.

If Microsoft were to setup tourneys where winners could get points to spend on Live games or other downloads, then we'll see good, competitive games.

That actually excited me. I'm a huge boardgame dork but have never rustled up enough players to try this game out so i've never played it even though it gets glowing reviews. Now if we could just get a Live version of Cosmic Encounters i'd be happy.

From what I've read, if you run out of money in poker, you have to play in the free buyin tournements in order to build your bankroll back up.

I think it all depends. In Player Matches where you start out with 25k, you just go in the hole. In the competitive matches where you start with 2k, yes you have to enter freerole tournaments. Just ask edstein, he's in the hole bigtime

True, and that's what I already mentioned (everyone going all in). It would be nice if M$FT did that but what would it gain for them? I don't see it happening.

Well, I think I'm done with 360. After being disappointed by both Dead Rising and Madden 07, I think its time to sell off the system while I can still reasonably recoup my losses. Anyone know the best way to dump off a system? I'm guessing its ebay.

Actually it is me that is in the hole big time. I have not tried any tournaments though. I guess I need to have my friends help me cheat, like the guys with $18M, to get out of my very deep hole.

I want to see tournaments that you buy in with MS points that the winners take home.

I think you should hold off selling your 360 until Gears of War comes out in November. Even if you don't like that game yourself, it is going to be a big selling title and the demand for a 360 will go up. Especially with Christmas just around the corner. My .02.

No way. That's actual gambling.

Microsoft freerolls with prizes is more likely. And that isn't going to happen either

Had the worst hold em match ever. The loser would sit there and fold if he didnt have any good hands, i just wanted to game the end so that i could get my points and move on, but he refused and it took over 70 hands just to end the game. I filed a complaint immediately and blocked him, but the guy couldnt have waste more of my life if he tried. At one point, i thought i was playing against satan himself, since the entire point of him playing was to waste my life away. What trash.
