Now if only they would release these games.....

Look at the release dates though they are kind of discouraging.

SF2, Cloning Clyde, and Frogger all say summer 2006 which could mean anything.

Lumines Live is the only one that has anencouraging release date July 2006.

I'd be surprised if it was that low.

I'm thinking it will be more like 1000-1200 points.

I hope not! Although as much as it sucks, I think you may be right.

Street fighter II - August 2.
Ø July 26 – Galaga

Ø August 2 – Street Fighter II’ Hyper Fighting

– ‘Galaga,’ the popular space shooter from Namco, which was first released back in 1981, comes packed with a new online multiplayer function, enhanced graphics and all new game modes on August 2

– ‘Street Fighter II’ Hyper Fighting’ takes the best from retro gaming and combines it with the signature features of Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, creating the best ‘Street Fighter’ experience to date, on July 26

Maybe Galaga and Street Fighter II are switched?

yeah, they are sending out an updated press release momentarily to fix that mistake. Check the compendium thread for the accurate dates shortly.

So with a firm date, it looks like they fixed the lag issues? Here's hoping.

Great news on the dates! Pac Man and SF2 in the same week!

Rabbit77, lag is going to vary depending on what kind of connection you and your opponent have. I have played SF Anniversary Edition on XBL and some games are downright horrible(even on "GOOD" connections) and of course I have played some where the connection is amazing with no lag at all.

So here's to hoping!

I scratched off the MS Points card today due to the news of SF2s actual date. I ended up scratching off the freakin #s! So i called MS and they couldnt use the serial # next to the #s (why even have it there?), so they said to call where i bought it from and try to exchange it. So i called outpost, the guy was very cool about it and said no problem for an return, since they dont have any in stock to do an exchange. Oh well, ill go ebay this time and save myself the hassle.

When you get those cards, be sure to scratch off the cover lightly. I've used two and had no problem. But if you're scratching it like you're trying to rub through to the other side, then yeah, you're going to rub off the numbers.

Speaking of those marketplace cards.....

All this talk about the marketplace prepaid cards reminded me of something. Does everyone here know that amazon.com has finally got rid of Toys R Us as an affilate? That means now when you buy games or game related items (like the cards) you are buying them directly from amazon now, which means no tax (depending on where you live) and no shipping charges (if the order is over 25.00.) Everyone probally alreally knows this, but just in case there are a few that do not.

Leardboards don't seem to be working yet as far as I can tell. I won al least six matches and in my stats is says 0 for everything. Strange.

Eh, it was pretty laggy for the few matches I played. Maybe its my connection that just sucks? I had a few disconnection errors, and when it did work, my jump kicks weren't coming out when I expected. I had to press the attack button earlier than I wanted to have it come out when I wanted. It'll take some getting used to. So far, the 360 controller isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'll have to try out some spinning piledrivers, and see how responsive it is.

Plays very well IMO. May wanna check your connections. Of all the games I had played only 2 had bad lag. The rest were very playable. A six button controller is definitely needed.

Is this game worth the points? I mean is anyone going to be playing this game a month or two from now. Seems like there is always alot of hype surrounding these nostalga games but rarely do they have any long term play value.

Definitely worth the points (800). The game is definitely slowed down on the live side, but it just takes a few matches of getting used to.

I got to play a handful of matches before work. Very playable and fun.

I have been having a good deal of fun with it. Far more than i did with Uno even and i adored Uno. I did get my first negative mark on my rep this morning for Unsporting conduct. It is especially funny since i've been playing against Chun Lis who just do the quick quick and Ken/Ryus who are spamming fireballs. I guess it is unsporting to dodge or break through those attacks.

Just admit it. You were continuously doing the 100 hand slap with E. Honda, weren't you?

No, but i have run into 3 or 4 people who that is the only move they knew. Personally the fact E Honda can move while doing the slap is bullshit in my opinion. He couldn't do that in the original SFII.

It took me a good 3 losses (6 rounds) to get the timing down for tagging the guy out of that move (i've been playing Blanca due to being so rusty with my fav character). Funny thing is after i countered that move the next couple people doing that barely even touched me - it is like they only know how to pound one button.
