I hit up all the big box stores today, nothing. I didn't want a lecture on preorders so I didn't bother with EB/GS. I'll be near Best Buy around 11am tomorrow, hopefully they will have it.

EB here said that they'd have it tomorrow. So, I'll stop there on my way home from surgery. I can't wait to play the full game.
|
Surgery? Hope you are okay!
By the way I *just* found the sub-machine gun in the demo. So much fun. I'm so glad the game finally comes out tomorrow because I don't think I can wait any longer. |
There are now 8 keys available to download for free on Live. These keys will allow you to get into lockers with special costumes: Miami Nights, Casual, Weekender, Round Shades, Burgundy Wine, Grandpa, Pink Paparazzi and Man in Black.

Glad they are adding FREE content online to D/L, that is always nice.

Granted this one is free and pretty generic content, it still treads shakey ground. |

What about the 40% of people not on live/have broadband? They have just been screwed out of content on release day.

Well, I guess that is the bonus you get for having broadband connected to your 360. I'm sure most users do. Yes, you do alienate some people, but they have to wet people's appetite somehow. They give you the first one for free....just like a drug dealer ;)

It is also a marketing thing to say they have downloadable content. I know when i look at a new game and see that there is the potential for downloadable content it gives it some bonus points over something that has no possibility of downloadable stuff. If the content is free then i don't see what the grand issue is. It does in fact leave some people out but it also is a huge marketing play to entice the silver members to go into the marketplace and see what all they can download. Chances off that will pay off big when they discover the arcade and start buying games. ;)

That is what I'm referring to, the free Dead Rising content barely scratches the surface, just a small example if you will. |

But ultimately, yes, pay maps on the same day as the game sucks and is something hopefully the consumers say no to. edit: i just realized this is in the Dead Rising thread instead of the general 360 thread. Sorry for the threadjacking - i won't comment on this bit anymore unless it is brought up in the main 360 thread. |

:jawdrop:The X360 Free Silver-tier has been the best thing about the 360, amazed you've managed to pass it by. And the demos rule. When you sign up for your Silver account, you generally get a free month of Gold as well. |

Im hoping I get engrossed in this game too. |
No luck I hit 2 Walmarts, Best Buy, Target, & Costco. None of them had the game. Finally I know I shouldn't have I stopped by EB games (big mistake I know) dick head sales person asked if I pre ordered the game. My answer was nope, he said sorry can't give it to you, I was like you have 20 copies of the game behind you. He said those are all for pre orders, next time you will learn to pre order your games with us. I was like no thank you and walked out. Oh well I guess I will find it somewhere else.
|
I picked it up from Ebgames at lunch today, wow are the sales guys annoying in there, worst than bestbuy.
First he tries to sell me the strategy guide for it. I say no. Then he tries to sell me disc insurance for $3. I say no. Then he goes into this schpeel about pre-ordering Gears of War. I listen to it all and say no. Then he tries to sell me an EB Edge membership. I was waiting for him to start selling lighting fixtures to me. |

At one point, BB, CC, Walmart, etc. would get games days after release, so that was one of the few things EB/GS had going for it. That's not really the case anymore, especially with major releases. I wonder if these arrogant Gamestop/EB managers and owners realize that unless they start ordering games to cover non pre-order sales they're going to be loosing a ton of business. |
My Best Buy just got it in (1:45 PM), just use their website and check if it's in stock at your local store.
